Default Did I miss something on this listing?

I bought this card lot on June 2 and it arrived today. Took a little while. The listing says the card would ship from Staten Island, New York. Today, the envelope showed it shipped from Hong Kong. Why would the seller do this? 9 days is a long time for domestic mail but within reason from overseas. Here is the listing.
2012 13 Panini Brilliance Kevin Durant Russell Westbrook Spellbound 2 Card Lot | eBay
The sellers name is tlmndd.

well you got your item AND it only took 9 days from hk. I have a card that went out on June 1 from HK, arrived to NY on the 7th and IM STILL waiting for it to update from NY.

I'd guess it's a registered US address so that they can use the account to bid on US-only auctions, and possibly other reasons that may benefit them (ebay bucks etc). Seems a bit suss, but you got them and reasonably quickly. Might be worth hitting their stars though and say that it stated located in the US, but took 9 days to arrive and came from overseas.

People are sometimes leary of purchasing things from overseas...so they probably use a NY address on ebay...just a guess.

Should be happy it didn't take longer. I've sent things to Canada that took 2 weeks. And, yeah most likely he just stated NY so more people would buy from him.

Whoever this guy is, he won an auction from me on that ended on the 19th and he hasn't paid yet. Filed a NPB and he still hasn't responded. His address is in Staten Island, initials are GY. I looked at some of the items he has for sale and based on the wording in his auctions he clearly wasn't an English major.
