Are they bringing back the colored space between the paint and the three point line too?

I loved it when they announced they were planning the change a month ago. Growing up, I went to the ball games with my dad. It had to be the best home atmosphere in the NBA. Constantly at the top of the league in attendance with one of the bigger arenas back then at 23-24K. The Buzz is back!

Maybe it's just me, but I think they need to worry about getting more than 25 wins in a season before they worry about what the team is called. Sure, getting the name back is gonna create a small amount of hype with the fans, but if it's still the same crappy team on the court, people will once again go back to not caring about them.

Something tells me they aren't "worried" about what the team is called.

They have a Marketing Department that does these things (and I know when we changed our logo when I worked in an NHL front office). I don't think they get paid to just sit at their desk from 9-5 and play on Blowout.

You're right, I should have worded that differently. I didn't really mean team officials as much as I'm talking about the people(and not necessarily on here, I live in NC so I hear this alot) that have been talking for months as if somehow the name change will make all their problems go away. It's ridiculous and I hear something along those lines a few times a week.

I wouldn't say all the problems will go away just because of the name change. However, these NBA players grew up watching Hornets basketball, not Bobcats basketball. If you are PF, you would think you have to be the next Larry Johnson. You want your team to get 50+ wins and win divison title. That is a big attachment to the past.

To me, Bobcats players are not proud of themselves because the team has no winning, but just losing year after year. With the rollback name, I hope they will try to beat the past record, and make themselves feel like this is a NBA team, not some unknown basketball team.

I thought they said the name change would not take place until after the upcoming season. Did I hear that wrong?
