Ive seen the Karl Malone go in the $400-$500 range, same as the Grant Hill and Rodman.

Jam I think you inadvertently started the official thread of Skybox Autographics, lol.

LOVE the Autographics series! Wish I had the focus to put the 1997 football set together. I would need to grab the Favre and Reggie Century Marks though for my craziness, and don't want to shell what it would take to get Reggie.
I did nab this one for $80 BIN a few years ago...

And this was a must have too... cost me more...

And this was never made.... sure wish it was though... image came from a paper proof sheet after the bankruptcy...

I mainly concentrate on the 96-97 set currently, as I try to stay budget-conscious lately. I still lack roughly 35 cards for the set and hope to reduce the number to around 15 or even less before this year ends.

I pulled a few low-end Autographics cards from single packs back in Hong Kong (as a student, no less) when these sets were released in their respective NBA seasons, so my reason for building them is more or less tied to my sentiment rather than monetary value. Despite being condition sensitive, I am a bit picky when acquiring these cards in secondary markets.

And yes, I love the other sets that I am building too, but the main thing is still the Autographics.

Nice cards Sikkcaden. I only have one card from this set (Dirk Nowitzki) and am not actively building it for now.

My guess is that the Mailman one might go for higher now, and even more so for the regular version (yes, the regular version) - the only few times that I saw this card pop up on the bay, it's almost always the Blue parallel version (and no, it's not the same seller re-listing).

I love the autographics, especially the rarer Blue/Century Mark -

I need stoudamire, Drexler, and mourning to complete 1996/97.
I have 2 blue Garnett's, 1 Blue and 7 black Rod Stricklands, and a blue Drexler.
I have a Pippen blue but don't know if it's legit.
If anyone has cards I need, message me.

Who is this? That's the only thing that sucks about 96-97 and 97-98 if you don't know who the guy is, no name on the front.

I counted mine today, I need all the big money cards now, as well as the lesser know guys I'm missing. Still need a ton of what I would consider commons on the 98-99 side.

97-98 - Need 50
98-99 - Need 88

As for the 98-99 set, and I'm not answering for cruthink, but I think it is the most expensive set because of 3 things:

-largest set size of Autographics (139)
-it has the most SP's like Karl Malone, Duncan, Rodman, Pippen, Iverson, G. Hill, Robinson
-of those SP's they are also being hoarded by the player collectors as well

Also, cruthink if you want to sell the Duncan, let me know, I need it for my set.
I think the 98-99 set is the second best. I agree that it has the better players but the 96-97 has more hobby significance. I think it is in the top 4 more important sets in basketball

1. 86-87 fleer (spud webb away from finishing this)
2. 96-97 topps chrome (next set I want to complete)
3. 03-04 exquisite
4. 96-97 skybox autographics

I love the look of them, one of the best rookie classes (even though theres no kobe or iverson).

Sory, im hanging onto the duncan :-)

Great discussion guys. It was really fun (and scary) to find out how many of us autographics collectors are out there! Would love to see more if you all want to show off or share any that were harder to find than others. So far none have been terribly hard for me to find. But I need so many still it's not like I have to look very far.

Does the card look like being double-emboss-stamped to you guys?

Yes it does, and the hand serial numbering is in an odd place on the card, it is usually along the bottom or left/right side closest to the signature. Ive never seen it placed diagonally, very suspicious. I would reference other Juwan Howard CMs out of this set for consistency.

Don't know if it's rarer, but I definitely feel that it's weird even though the Century Club stamp is there. Never seen any CM card like this before.
I found the listing by surfing around eBay and have no plans to acquire it anyway, but would like to bring this up to your attention, especially for those going after this CM parallel set.

Found one shown on the Beckett site. The hand-numbering seems to be consistent:
1997-98 SkyBox Premium Autographics Century Marks #51 Juwan Howard | Beckett.com

But is it double-emboss-stamped like the one on eBay?
