Right here, already completed the 96-97 set and have about 15 more to finish the 97-98, 98-99, and 99-00 sets. The 98-99 set is my favorite.

Wow congrats!!! That is Awesome! Congrats. 97-98 is really going to kill me with the barkley. What was the hardest for you to get with the 96-97 set?

The Stoudamire and Olajuwon were the last ones I needed to finish that set. Yeah the Barkley will most like be the last one to finish the 97-98 and 99-00 sets.

Good luck finding the 98-99 Karl Malone or Grant Hill btw.

I was worried about the Malone. Didn't realize Hill was HTF or expensive. Saw you're putting together the sets for NFL as well? Did you think that commons for 1997 NFL were more than commons for Basketball? I was going to start football when I first began and noticed couldn't get them nearly as cheap as Basketball. Keep me in mind if you ever have any extras or are looking for something. Sometimes I buy lots and have doubles.

The 97 NFL set isnt that hard to build, I only need the Dan Marino to finish that set. You can find the football commons listed more frequently in lots. So about the same price.

The 97-98 Tim Thomas? No, the only way I'll buy that one is if it is in a BGS/JSA slab because he never returned those back to Skybox and kept them to hand out to family/friends and ttm auto seekers.

Yeah, it's not a big loss, was it graded? I sent mine into SGC for grading awhile back. Here it is:

Nice discussion guys. A lot of big names in 96-97 as well. Not going after that set as 97-98 is really what kicked off my autograph collecting.

I don't have the Tim Thomas listed as a need on mine since it wasn't packed out I don't consider it part of the set. The set's expensive enough as it is!

cruthink, do you think the 98-99 set is hard to put together due to price or are you just stating hard to find the cards?

Yeah jam, thanks for starting this thread, maybe we can dig up all those Autographics set collectors, because I know they are out there and we are sniping each other on ebay.

As for the 98-99 set, and I'm not answering for cruthink, but I think it is the most expensive set because of 3 things:

-largest set size of Autographics (139)
-it has the most SP's like Karl Malone, Duncan, Rodman, Pippen, Iverson, G. Hill, Robinson
-of those SP's they are also being hoarded by the player collectors as well

Also, cruthink if you want to sell the Duncan, let me know, I need it for my set.

That makes sense bigsmooth. I wonder is there anybody out there or any official listing that knows the print runs of the SP's.

Ive tried looking for old employees of Fleer/Skybox that worked on this set. Someone is out there that knows the details, we just have to find that person for more insight. It's easy to figure out why Karl Malone didnt sign very many though, he was too busy being in the playoffs and finals and had little free time to sign autographs.

I like this one just because he signed less of his cards in that set with the inscription.

Wow those are sweet 00-01.

How much does the malone 98-99 usually go for. I know barkley 97-98 can get darn near $1000 sometimes. Is malone that rare as well?

Welcome bjho852. Were are you on your sets? By your sig we have a lot of the same interests. Love the TSC cosigners and topps autos as well!
