Default Flawless Base Rookie Sales Tracker

I'm editing this post so that I can track all sales of the Flawless base rookies. If I miss one, feel free to add it.

Thanks!

Adam

Congrats on putting the set together.

Are any of the cards jersey numbered?

I wish I tried for the Beal, but good crap that thing sold for a lot.

The Kyrie is number 11, which is his high school jersey number does that count?

And the Anthony Davis is #1/20... so not the jersey number but still pretty cool.

Hey Leon. Thanks man.

I understand. I've always felt that True Rookie cards have to come from the base set.... I know a lot of people disagree with me, but that's just the way I feel.

Thanks again man,

Adam

Great set to have. It's really a great addition to anyones collection and a superb investment. Only 19 others can do what you have done there.

Congrats and good job on the set! I enjoy these "show off" threads more than the bickering threads.

Amen to that dude. At least now that Immaculate is finally out and Paul has made his money I don't need to worry about him turning this into an Immaculate vs Flawless conversation... I think we all had as much as we could stand of those....

Anyway, thank you all for your kind words. It's the first "set" even though it's not really it's own set, that I've put together in a LONG time. It was fun hunting these down and trying to find the best deals possible. I'd love to do the rest of the set, but my funds are totally exhausted... maybe I can trade some stuff down the road, I guess we'll see....

Adam, amazing set. Well done. If Kyrie, AD and Lillard play the way they have been playing for next 5-6 years, I think that RC set will be about $20K

Thanks man. I hope you are right... I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I had the same thing in mind when I purchased them.....

I remember when Vince Carter's SP Authentic Rookie came out talking to one of my friends who couldn't believe that there was a real rookie card where only 1500 copies were made. We asked the question then, how rare of rookie cards will they make???

I never dreamed I would see the day where the answer to that question would be.... twenty.

In my opinion, these are the only true rookie cards in Flawless and the single rarest true rookie cards ever made. I finally received the last one, Chandler Parsons, this week.

My camera phone is super crappy, but attached below is the pic.

The cards are not available and will be in the PC for the foreseeable future. I know, I know.... showing things off isn't always the most popular thing, but I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to put this together, and I thought a few of you might enjoy.

Thanks for the look.

Congratulations that is an awesome monster rookie set.

You have the best rookie cards of the best rookies.

Must have cost you a pretty penny though.

Thanks. I don't think you're the only one who feels like that.... There's a reason that the last Lillard Base sold for $2k while the last auto /25 RC sold for $605... and it has NOTHING to do with the diamond...

I believe it's because others also agree that these are THE rookies.

When I first saw the Flawless checklist, I was super disappointed that the rookies from the base set weren't auto patches. But as I thought about it, it started to make sense to me.

There are lots of auto rookies, and even lots of Auto patch rookies... and some of them are already close to perfect. Both NT and Immaculate are absolutely incredible RPA's, and I'm not saying anything against either of them. But I'd argue that while there are many RPA's, there is only one base set /20 ever made. And for Rookie card collectors like me... it's all about the rookie card.

So I did the math and realized that this set has a few things about it that put these rookies in a really unique category.

The first thing is that the product is not only the most expensive in history, but people were saving money for another product right on it's heals. This is beneficial for two reasons... people were selling Flawless singles way faster than they should have been to recoup cash (to pay for immaculate) and people weren't buying singles the way they should have (because they needed cash for immaculate), so I saw an opportunity to buy early, as rare as it may be, as the best opportunity I would ever have. Even though We're only a few weeks into the game, it appears that this was the correct assumption.

Now, about the base rookies themselves, I knew they would be collectible across 4 major lines. Set collectors, player collectors, rarest rookie collectors, and investors. You rarely get people from all of these different sectors fighting over the same thing, but especially in the quantities of people that we have for this set given the limited run.

I know it sounds like I'm doing a sales job on these. It's not supposed to be that way. I'm just trying to explain why I bought and why I bought when I bought.

Again, I feel very fortunate to have been able to put this together. It's easily the coolest set I've ever owned. I do think they'll appreciate, but if not, worse things have happened. I don't foresee a time where I'll want to sell, but I could be wrong. In the mean time I am very interested to see whoever puts together the first entire base set... that will be amazing. Happy hunting!
