Default POLL: Best Young Duo In The NBA?

This is spin-off of the Curry/Thompson vs. George/Lance Thread.

Who is the best young duo in the league? Who would you want to build around?

Note:

I understand Durant and Westbrook are both still young, but I feel like both of them are closer to their prime while all these other duos are still growing.

I apologize for leaving MKG/Kemba off, but I deemed them the least likely to get votes.

And go.

Why wouldn't it be Paul George/Roy Hibbert?

Hmm it's almost like the pacers and warriors duo are reaching therir primes right now. Maybe?

I think is have to pick one of them right now. But I think the wizards duo and pelicans duo has the most surprising promise.

But once they develop, they will no longer be a young duo! lol

I went Curry/Thompson because of how they can blow a game apart when they fire. Probably playing favourites over George/Lance though

Looks like after this season, theyll no longer be a duo.

We shall see but I don't think that is true. The Pistons can match any offer Monroe gets and they most likely will retain him. I don't see a max offer coming his way.

Paul George is probably the best overall player in this poll, but i dont think anyone on the list touches the Curry/Thompson dynamic right now.

craziest thing is that Curry is older than both Durant and Westbrook.

That dynamic being that they're volume shooters who play very little defense. I mean the dudes average 34 shot attempts per game and almost 16 3-point attempts per game between the 2 of them. Sure they're going to put up big scoring numbers when you shoot that much.

Combined numbers for duos:

George/Stephenson
37.1 points per game (47% FG)
11.4 rebounds per game
10.3 assists per game
5.2 turnovers per game

Curry/Thompson
42.6 points per game (44% FG)
7.6 rebounds per game
11.7 assists per game
6.2 turnovers per game

So Curry and Thompson combine for 5 more points per game but do so taking 6 more shots per game. They rebound less, and average 1 more assist per, while turning the ball over more.

So to say no one touches them is pretty outlandish.

i would still, going forward, take curry and klay over george and lance in a heartbeat. i like george, but still dont fully trust stephenson. cue the career highs, etc., but i just dont trust him yet.

i almost wish i could change my answer - the one player with the most upside of anyone on this list is anthony davis. if jrue is even above average, that duo could combine to be the most potent.

George and Lance because they are the only ones that have a chance at winning a title from all of the others. The others will never have a chance in my opinion.

And how is Durant and Westbrook not on here? They are both 25 years old.
Harden and Parsons are 24 & 25

What is young to you????

I didn't even bother reading it but how do you define someones prime?

By age? sometimes you can't really pinpoint someones prime until there career is almost over.

Durant has been in the league since 2007 and Westbrook since 2008. Every player on here was drafted in 09 or later. Durant and Westbrook have both already received max deals and have established themselves as superstars. This thread is more about potential and the future.

None of the players listed have reached their full potential, outside of maybe Steph Curry.

10.7 rebounds per game
8.9 assists per game

29.2 FGA per game (.8 more than George/Stephenson)

PER (George 22.66 + 15.78 = 38.44), (Harden 21.3 + Parsons 16.8 = 38.1), (Curry 22.43 + Thompson 14.11 = 36.54)
