Default Help with having a hard signed card

I live in the same town as Tyler Zeller, Indiana's Mr. Basketball, class 3A state champs, full ride scholarship to North Carolina. He played in the McDonald's All American game, so he has a Topps card, he also signed 350 of them for Topps to redistribute later on. I am going to have him hard sign a raw one for me. My question is what should I have him do to make it stand out? I'm thinking red sharpie, assuming he signed all the others with black or blue.

If the card you are talking about is the shiny waxy type base card, you might want to lightly rub it down w/ baby powder. Sharpy on the waxy surface comes out really crappy (skips, bubbles up, etc..), so the powder takes away some of the gloss and makes for a nicer autograph surface. If the card is the base cardboard stock then disregard my suggestion. Try it out on another card of the same type if you can.

Also, you should think about having someone take a picture of you and him while he signs it. Just in case anyone doubts the cards authenticity.

I'd get the photo taken with him, but I like the Mr. Indiana as a inscription. Not only would be be nice for the pc...but if you ever sell it, I can't see that inscription hurting you.

Unfortunately I won't witness him signing it. At work we have a high school kid working with us through school as an OJT program. He is going to take the card in school for me and have him sign it, he has a couple classes with him. If he makes it big in college and the card becomes valuable, I could always have BGS or PSA athenticate it.

Give the kid a disposable camera and make sure both of them are in the frame. That is if you are wanting to sell it in the near future.

I got it back today. I wanted "2008 Indiana Mr. Basketball" on it but he said he couldn't fit it in, I guess he didn't want to write on himself. He also didn't let it dry before he put it back in the sleeve so it smeared a bit, don't know if that will hurt the value or not. I wasn't there to tell him so he probably didn't think about it.

Anyways, here is a pic, I put my Ebay ID to prevent possible scams.

Nice looking card. The red ink auto on it really looks nice, but I hope you know the smearing of the auto DOES affect any aftermarket value. Great for your PC though.

I put it up on Ebay for $500 for the hell of it, you never know. From what he says he signed 350 for Topps, I figure I would try it now before they are released. I still don't know if the 350 are stickers or hard signed, but I bet mine is the only red ink.
