This is the way its being portrayed by some of the national talk show hosts, but its really not true. A higher percentage of Cleveland's black community is probably defending LeBron than the white community, but the majority of the black community still has a big problem with the way LeBron left. Any of the people saying otherwise are simply making assumptions.

In Cleveland, I think 85-90% of the community has a problem with either Lebron leaving or how LeBron left or both. But there are the fringe 10-15% that were bigger LeBron fans than fans of the team, so they are the LeBron apologists that don't see a problem with anything that happened.

With Gilbert's response, I think it was more 50/50 among the same group as far as those supporting Gilbert and those attacking him.

@ Willis, what Hawk said wasn't racist. Not trying to come to the defense of an idiot, but he was being just that. It was a narrow minded stereotypical uneducated statement to make, but there is a DISTINCT difference between being a fool and being a racist fool, i don't think Hawk was being racist.

@ mgugs- the truth is that the comment is more "real" for some than others. Once again, if you mis-define the analogy, and take it as Jesse calling Gilbert a slave master or a racist, its VERY easy to conclude that Jesse was going overboard. and a lot of this is backlash is simply because Jesse is Jesse. All race issues aside, the dude crying wolf this time is like Canseco crying steroids.

And Sharpton, while an attention monger in his own right, is no where near the turd that Jesse is. Notice how you rarely see them together anymore. MOST of the black community have separated from Jesse and have done so YEARS ago.
