I read the thread and it said to talk trash, I'm doing just that. You are right though, when I'm watching Basketball I always go, 'd*m that was a nice shot'. I don't go, 'freakin guy used drugs over the summer why is he even playing' or 'what a rapist'. I don't go to threads and bash LJ, KG or MJ. I am here defending my favorite player, whether he be a rapist, a drug dealer or a killer, I myself don't care. If he goes on that court, plays the game that is expected of him by his coach, teammates and fans. Every Kobe-hater out there fits into the same stereotype. Do you hear his teammates complain? Do you hear his city complain? We, (I can't speak for everyone in LA but..) cheer for him. He comes out at the Staples Center, we don't look at him as you people do, a rapist, a Prima Donna, or whatever he is behind the scenes. To us, he's an athlete, a reliable team leader and as much as Chicago reveres the Legendary MJ as a hero, so do we. If he brings us a game that we truly enjoy, when he delivers the entertainment and sportsmanship that we expect, we, as his fans are happy. I look forward to watching his games, I'm sure a lot of people do. I speak to protect our "Superstar". People who bash him on forums and whatnot are speaking their mind, when he doesn't have time to come here and bicker to defend himself, so I bicker for him. You will never see me going around smacking L James or any other player on forums, as me with my morals is that kind of person. But you sir, Mr. Mid-life and Mr. Mid-life Jr, I will bash because my morals don't apply to people like you.

GO LAKERS

When I get a man crush I'll give you an answer. Doubt it's going to be in this life though

Weird how the rape topic keeps coming up though, because as far as I know he was acquitted of charges (or the case was settled or dismissed). I believe calling him a rapist, or saying that he raped a person is at this point is foul. I don't mind opening that can and chucking it right back.

I can understand how you could respect him on the court, but how in good conscious can you just overlook the rape allegations as no big deal, even though it was settled? Same with the way he treated his teammates last summer? Hell even MJ took flack when it came out that he was cheating on his wife throughout his career.

Yeah, but fortunately for MJ, that part of his life never comes out when people talk about his playing career. That's what's bugging me a little bit

So......cheating is okay? I live in LA, but I don't cheer for Kobe. I'm happy that's he's on the team I suppose but it certainly wouldn't break my heart if he had gotten traded. I find it very hard to cheer for a person like Kobe.....no matter how good he is on the court.

Cheating is wrong.... no doubt he loss public favor like MJ and alot of other celebs for that..... But as for the Rape crap, come on..... give me a break anyone who seen outside the media filtered story's knows she didnt go to his hotel room to sip tea with him, and when she thought about the money she could get for even allegations, of course she ran to the media with it.....
I am not blind, OJ killed his wife, etc. etc. but though I dont care for the Lakers, nor Kobe as a man, he's not a rapist....

But on that note..... there WILL be 7 games in this series...... just because of the media hype, and the money and interest it will generate for the NBA....

Now you guys have to bring up the alleged "rape.
It doesn't take much common sense to figure out what that whole deal was about. MONEY, plain and simple.
Just like the poor Duke boys who had there lifes ruined because another women cried rape.
How many different loads did they find in the Colorado girls panties. Multiply.
Yes, that seems to fit the kinda girl who gets raped.
I will not defend rapist or child molestors, but I would have to say there are a few who make false claims and my opinion is the women from Col. did just that. I guess there's only 3 people who will ever know the truth, and thats not any of us.
Hows the saying go, you can't rape the willing.

Tim, The Shaq won the Championships stuff is B.S
They might have not been won if it wasn't for BOTH of them and the rest of the TEAM.

Cheating is never ok. Even if you ask Kobe that question I'm sure he'll answer truthfully and say it's not. I've seen it happen around myself, and I can't say I haven't been there. It leaves a bad taste no matter what the circumstance is. People are forgiven for it, because as far as I can tell sometimes it's human nature. I don't think any man or woman (in the right mind) comes out of his house to go cheat or sleep around.

We better steer the topic back to trash talk about Celtics vs. Lakers... lol
Someone can go start a Kobe-bashing thread somewhere else.

Lakers in 5!
YouTube - NBA FINALS 2008: BEAT LA? Gatorade SPOOF

EDIT: kramer, go take your bashing somewhere else, just looked back at the thread and saw how it all started. lol!

Not that I feel anything is fixed..... but I dooooooooooo believe things happen in strange ways from time to time..... So with that said, I say the Lakers have a better team, and should win, BUT... Since Kobe got the MVP, they will give the East coast some love, and Celtics in 7.....

It's quite possible, I wish it was as simple as a winner and a loser. None of us can ever prove or disprove the $$$ deals in the background, but I sincerely hope that's not the case.

Took me like 10 re-reads to get that one.. Nope, if you read our posts were just saying that hopefully there's no back-dealing. If LA losses, LA losses.

Please review our posts one more time. Tex is even implying that Boston is going to win on game 7. Please keep your crying towels for yourself as men don't posses or need such towels!

Not sure if LA will "loose"... But I sure hope they don't lose!

So you've cried because your team lost a game? I understand it's healthy for you to cry, but that's going a bit overboard...

See just as I thought you take things out of content....Where Did I say I cried because my team lost ?????
I was trying to point out being a MAN you didn't have to try to trash talk and prove your manhood......and IF you can say you Never cried your only fooling yourself....

Enough to this if you can not see what i`m trying to say you never will no matter how I state it......

Aww! Don't get pissed all that fast.. Come on!

1. Your first post stated you asking me and Texas where to send the "crying towels" if LA lost. I don't even know what that is, although you seem to have some to send out.

2. Your second post says you admit to crying, which is normal and I have nothing against that. (Which I've made clear) Again you ask me if I need a "crying towel".

So combining your first and second post, you seem to be projecting yourself as someone who has and needs crying towels, and you offer it to people whose teams might lose in a sports game. Thus, I deduced that's what you use those crying towels for.

I will never get how you state what? All I heard was accusations that I might cry if LA loses.. I don't think a point ever got across. Just simple trash-talking

Well. Lakers just lost. As I expected. They always let the opp. to lead and sometimes it's difficult to come back. Disappointing, but hope they'll do better in game 2. Celtics got a lot of energy tonight. It's not my team, but gotta admit that they're great. Like that dunk that KG put back in.
