Default 07/08 Rookie Class

I don't pay attention to college basketball and ignored the NBA this season. How strong, well say letter grade wise, would you think this year's class was (or will be)?

The class that graduated in 2008 or 2007?

I would give them a GPA of about 3.275

I don't know about that...I've seen a ton of those autographed cards and some of the guys can't seem to write their own names...or they're simply too important to.

I just have the itch to get some basketball to open but I have no idea what year to go with. Then I'll try and decide which product.

This year was actually quite good. You get some rookies with high draft numbers that did really well. Obviously I would at least try to get Durant and Horford stuff. There were actually a bunch of rookies that did well..

Brooks, Landry, Brewer, Luis Scola, Thornton, Glen Davis, Jamario Moon, Thad Young, Jeff Green, Joakim Noah, Rodney Stuckey... and others

Next year looks like a monster rookie year though

I think this year's may not be as good as last years. Relying on Mayo, Bayless, et al to be superstars is pretty risky.

The rookies this year were very solid: Oden was hurt, but he will start for years. Durant could be a superstud. Scola is a guaranteed future star. Moon, Young, Brewer, Green, Stuckey should all play a large role in a team's future, I think Thad Young has huge upside. Crittendon and Conley on the right team could turn into CP/Deron...big if but still possible. Thornton will be very good some day as well.

I am a hooge cbb junkie.

Next year's class also isn't even determined yet, UNC alone has 3 guys at pre-draft camp but no agents so...who knows if/when they go?

The graduating class of this years class is better !!! Everyone is forgetting about Oden. You can have Beasley or Rose. The rest of next years class is weak!!!

i agree 2007 is stronger, but you're undervaluing the potential of some 2008 guys, particularly mayo. he's not quite as mature as rose or beasley, but his upside is every bit as high.

I like Gordon, Love, and Bayless' potential over Mayo's.

Not that OJ can't be a star, but he's got a lot of convincing to do. JMHO after having watched him a lot.

Love is good, but I think he'll mess up with his weight management in a few months or years and just ruin it...

Mayo should have stayed in college another year. He's good, but has some flaws. It'll be a few years befoer we see any potential. He'll be a star at best, no superstar.

Bayless, Beasley and Rose have some proving to do. Especially Rose who really messed up in the final 4. Reminds me of J.J. Redick a little.. kept missing his free throws when it was needed..

I think overall... 2007-08 class will be better than 2008-09.

Stuckey, Horford, Durant, Moon, Davis, Landry, Cook, Green, Conley -among others. Its a solid class. Next year the those players (im sure i'm missing a few) will breakout. This past years class will be a good one. Maybe not as good as 03-04 in terms of high $$, but good.
I'm not looking forward to next years class too much. Maybe just buy some of the autographs. Not really any products because I dont think the money is there.

You're thinking of CDR.

Rose missed 1 down the stretch. And it barely rimmed out, iirc.

Rose was 3-4 in the Final.
He was 11-12 in Final Four.
He was 7-8 in RegFinal
He was 6-7 v MichSt.

That's 26-30 in the 4 biggest games of the year.

Rose is going first with a 85% probability. He's from Chicago, they need a PG, he's a legit #1, he did well at pre-draft camp, and he could be the next Chris Paul.
