Default Curse you, Upper Deck!

Curse you, Upper Deck!

Call me crazy but isn't the point of customer care to facilitate the retention of customers? How does this...

...equate with this?

And, here is the lovely letter UD sent to me:

Really, Upper Deck? Thanks. Thanks for helping me with the best of your ability. This is what I imagine what their ineffectual and condescending customer care people were thinking when they were trying to assist me:

"How dare! How dare this loyal customer purchase one of our products expecting to get what he paid for! Even though we should have had the Sweet Spot 'hit' card in the pack in the first place - instead, replacing an actual card with a ludicrous placeholder to cover for our abortive quality control and utter lack of respect for consumers - we will give this sucker some bullshit, non-equivalent replacement. See if he tries to pull this #@#@#@#@ and ask us for stuff ever again!"

Such unscrupulous business practices. Such disappointment. So insulting. I sincerely hope this company tanks. I get enraged every time I read about how other bloggers and collectors are screwed over by these card companies. Now it has happened to me personally, and you can very well imagine how I feel.

Now, what to do with this card?
I'm Ballsy: Curse you, Upper Deck!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa I buy boxes (probably below cost) with known expired redemptions because I'm not an informed consumer. Whaaaaaaaaaa they gave me something anyway and I still need to whine because I didn't get a card I can flip for more then the box cost. Man up already.

Gotta love it. If a player or three doesn't return their cards in a timely manner then should the company not release the product until the few straglers return the cards ? Oh wait that would cause a delay in release date and create another reason for some more whining threads on here.

If players can't sign in time just don't include them. Companies give them way too much time to sign when they feel like it.

Dude should be lucky he got anything at all. Yes, redemptions suck ass, but companies can't always control when players sign and when they receive those signatures. Really, the guy should understand, hey, i sent in an expired redemption, UD doesn't have to do crap for me, but they send me a card anyway.

If they don't include them but made mention of them on the pre-release sell sheets then you have the complaints about bait and switch. Again I'm really not defending companies but many people in this industry can not be pleased and look for anything to complain about. I don't understand why people constantly complain about something that they are not forced to spend money on ?

People complain because they want the industry to improve. You can either stand up and try and get change, or support the status quo. If you aren't positive a player will sign in time, don't advertise him as being in the product. God forbid they have to be sure about their product before trying to sell it to us.

I would prefer to pull a redemption for a great card and have to wait several months to receive it than to bust a product that is loaded with a bunch of crappy autos from the multi-millionaires who have nothing better to do than to sign thousands of stickers and cards by a deadline given to them by some empty suit. I guess you can mark me down as being in favor of the status quo.

That is perfectly fine, you at least have thought out reasoning besides the schmucks who cry about people wanting something done differently.
