For $224 I would much rather have a hobby box or 2 of equal value....I don't want 2000 meaningless rookie cards laying around the house win or lose....lol.....this won't fill unless they change it

Not to mention I don't see a way it fills before the first game, and I would hate to randomly draw an illiminated team

No matter how you look at it, if it fills or not (it goes on either way)...
you have a 1 in 6 shot of getting a team that goes to the SB. So, 5 out of 6 times you walk with 20 autos, 2000 rookie cards, and an Eliminated team....but if you hit a SB team, then you are a happy camper.

This is a better deal than squares at your local bar where you could be out $250 with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Ahhh...the promo stays open until the slots are filled looks like......it depends how you interpret it....

This is how I see it as well. I haven't bought a spot yet, but am very tempted. Worst case scenario:

18 crappy autos ($2 each average) = $36
2 decent autos ($10 avg.) = $20

20 cards lots of decent players: Tebow, Cruz, Spiller, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Best, Suh, Graham, Bradford, Pierre, Tate, McCoy, Dwyer, Matthews, Decker, Lee, Thomas, and Brown (18 players at $4-$5 avg.) = $80

Then hang onto the others guys to see if they get hot.

That is worst case and it is $136. I'm sure you could make even more on the 20 card lots and if you hit even 1 decent auto, you come close to making your money back. On top of that you have a chance at the Super Bowl winner or backup.

You could even hold off on opening the case, see if you win or not, and then flip the case on ebay for a small loss. A case sells for about $215 dlvd on there. You would be out around $40 after all is said and done with fees.

Just some thoughts on it.....or maybe I'm trying to talk myself into buying....

Caved and bought in even though I'm not crazy about the case. I'd say it's a decent deal for a slot at that price point..helps that I used cash I won in fantasy for this so I'm not out if I leave empty handed..

Pulled the trigger on a Donruss Case...worst case is I lose 75 bucks at a chance for 12 really good boxes.

With the addition of different buy ins, that changes my EV totals.....so just go by the total win of SB winner and runner ups.... WIN $1059.50 or $236.95

But remember, you are getting cards to begin with...I believe all lots are below BO's sale prices too (don't quote me on that though).....

Never mind. The way I read the rules now is that randomization won't happen until all spaces are filled or until the playoffs are done. Ouch. Was hoping this promotion would make the playoffs more interesting. In actuality, randomization probably won't happen until after half the teams or more are eliminated.

The Victor Cruz is a pretty easy one to get, and it's not a redemption. I bought a case a year or so ago and got him, and about 7 redemptions: Expect to get Tony Moeki, Max Komar, and Max Hall redemptions. I did get one of David Gettis/25. Yay. I'm going for it. What the hell. Brings me back to the days of the "Super Team" cards in Stadium Club in the 90's.

I have a slot. There is no way they can drop playoff teams from the list just because they lost and they have not assigned teams yet...that would change the odds too much.

The only thing I see is I'm dissappointed that I don't know which games to watch to root for my team, whoever they are. It would be nice to be able to switch to one of the other entry possibilities. I wonder if I could add the difference in price and move "up" an entry level. I'll have to think about if I want to do that and ask them.
