I think it was pretty generous to add all the runner up prizes on top of what they already had offered. Of course, I'm sure they'd like to make sure the promo fills, but the new prizes for sweet sixteen and elite eight runner ups is nice.

Agreed it was very gernous to add the runner up prizes. Im just a numbers person and they dont add up for me personally. if i was to join it would be with 6 cheap boxes for 1 slot in HOPES to win a case

The 'entry fee' is inconsistent for a reason. They probably want to move some of this product that is laying around and the fact that we are thinking about buying is exactly the goal. If the 'entry fee' were based on a set dollar amount, of course all of us would go for newest exciting products. But those products don't need much help selling. It's the older stuff that's been sitting around for awhile that needs help. It's great that BO is offering this promo and they set it up exactly how they wanted. You can get a cheap entry but you will have to buy the less desirable stuff or you can spend a lot more to get the good stuff but it will be harder to win. Can't always expect to have a win-win scenario. This promo just happens to be a tougher decision with the products offered because the less desirable products are really undesirable.

my only wish is that the final four prizes were like last years...each final four runner up had a choice of a case from like 10 different products, so you could choose what you collected...These prizes may be worth more, maybe less, don't know, didn't do the research, but I don't do much with bowman baseball, so that doesn't entice me much

In case this helps anyone on the fence (either way), I used this contest as an opportunity to break a product that had always intrigued me but that I never opened before. I bought a "2011 ITG Heroes & Prospects "Hits" Series 1 Baseball 12 Box Case" for $660 and busted it this afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised, and feel like I got pretty good value. Here is a sampling of some of my favorites:




The Myers auto has a print run of 390, the Trout auto is a SP of unknown PR, and the Givens auto is gold parallel with a PR of 10. The Mattingly and Ford autos have a PR of 80. The gold "Between The Seams" autos have a PR of 19, and the white-seamed Brentz is a 1/1. YMMV, but I really enjoyed this break. Good luck on your own.

Funny....that is the same thing I was about to order (and just did). I used my Fusion promo certificate to drop the cost to $460...I think a case of that is a steal! There are some very nice cards in that set! I am surprised the Whitey goes for as cheap as it does....but that would be a PC item - more valuable to the holder.

Itg looks intriguing as does 2008 razor..but it is minor league? What's te better rip and and am I nuts to be considering these to get in?

Both have autos that simply do not sell well. The Wil Myers for instance is a super SP and bring a whopping $17. Id avoid at $55 per box

Not sure what you mean. The Wil Myers auto isn't SP in the ITG set. It has the same stated print run as the average auto: 390 for the full body auto and 190 for the close up auto. Recent eBay sales on an ungraded full body auto were $23, $31, and $35. For the close up auto: $25 and $25.

Pyweed, is the series 2 with a much lower price point worth ripping or letterman? Thinking of getting something as I wanna get in this without paying a fortune or collecting a ton of 94 flair base

Sorry, I really wish I knew. I do kind of like Letterman, but if you plan on selling the ones you don't like it can take a really long time to find a buyer.

This was my first experience with ITG. If we get to a Promo #2 for March Madness I'll probably try Series 2 if it's available, just because I enjoyed the Series 1 break so much. But it will be a new product for me.

Agreed. I definitely am not advocating purchase of this product as a money-making venture.

FWIW, I think that auction ended so far below the others for the same reason I didn't find it when I searched: no "auto" in title. All the items with "auto" in the title did significantly better.

Ya know I didnt even notice it didnt mention autograph in the title or auto... Ive opened around 20 boxes of this product and hit 1 Trout and that was about it. I like the concept as its straight to the point with the 5 hits already in top loaders.. The price is still around $15 too high.

arrrrggggghhhhh...Somebody buy these up so I'm not tempted anymore....not thrilled about any of the products......but may get in anyway...wish I had more blowout credit though, used up my gift certificates from COMC already
