Here's what you need to know:

Last week was all about 2012 Topps Tier One BB. Still the theme this week. Dealers are trying to reload and the product continues to sell and move higher. Tier One is following the same pattern as Museum and Tribute. Hot out the gate...steady climb...will level off...then move higher again.

One of the keys to speculating on products is pretty simple. Your dealt with a handful releases every year. (Actually more than a handful) If collectors like it from the start, the product will run in time. If it's a dog out the gate...rarely does it ever come back. The first week is the most crucial time for new releases.


Keep an eye on 2003/04 Basketball products. Lebron is now crowned the King. He has his championship and all is forgiven. In the next 12 months, he's going to see some hobby love. High end basketball is a totally different breed of collecting. Similar to high end cars, fine wines, golden age comics...High End Bskt singles and wax are a investment tool for many. Just look at the returns in the past 4-5 years compared to other investments. You don't see these returns in any other sport . With Lebron in his prime and all the talk about his potential to win multiple championships along with the Heat's possibility to draw key players next year, it all bodes well for 2003/04 Basketball products to make a big move higher in the next few years. Would not be surprised to see his key Rookies and low numbered single cards double in price. We're already seeing Exquisite Bskt in the $25,000 a Case range. I remember selling a few cases just 6-8 months ago for $13,000.

A ton of new releases this week. 2012 Panini Prestige FB has alot of chatter and usually does very well as Panini kicks off the 2012 FB season. Keep an eye on 2012 Allen & Ginter. Could be the next presell to move.
Keep an eye on Pop Century. Last years was a huge surpise hit and boxes are $225+. This years content is even better but we'll have to see when the product hits.

Keep an eye on Mike Trout Rookie products in 2009 & 2010. Starting to move.

Any momentum on 2012 Topps Chrome baseball and football pre-sells yet?

Topps Chrome FB sales have been by far the top presell so far. Probably 3 to 1 over Finest, Platinum and others. Strata is getting alot of preorders. Seems the price point for the content is very good. Topps Chrome BB , Bowman Chrome BB and Finest BB have all been selling well and pretty evenly.

What do you mean by Allen & Ginter being next to move? That it is overpriced and box/cases will drop on release?
