Default Tuesday Market Report-10/09/12

Here's what you need to know:

Not much going on this week as far as new releases but all eyes are on next week with 2012 Bowman Chrome Baseball. Bowman Chrome is always one of the most highly anticipated releases every year. Topps has continued to add new information every few days via twitter to the release. The checklist has yet to be finalized which could mean a few more big names could be added or have been added and just not disclosed.

Here are a few links with added information:
The Blue Wave Redemption Program is Back !

Bowman Chrome Autograph Checklist

Products are selling well across the board but nothing in particular seems to be smoking Hot. Pretty much just steady this week. A lot of the focus has definitely shifted towards the Prospect related presells (Bowman Chrome, Bowman Draft) along with the upcoming Higher end Topps Releases for next year. It seems that many of these releases will be highly allocated based on the numbers we are getting. Collectors are targeting the following:

2013 Topps Series 1 Baseball Hobby & Jumbos
2012 Bowman Sterling Baseball
2013 Topps Tribute Baseball
2013 Topps Heritage Baseball
2012 Topps Five Star Baseball
2013 Topps Museum Baseball
2013 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball
2012 TOPPS Five Star FOOTBALL

We're seeing the following:

A lot of buying in 2012 Cryptozoic Walking Dead Series 2 and 2012 Cryptozoic THE BIG BANG THEORY Season 3 & 4 .

Also the upcoming Yugioh Tin releases seem to be in high demand.

The 2012 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball seems to be a big hit with Hot boxes randomly inserted. Hot boxes are going for $200-$250.

ITG is coming out with a 2012 ITG Baseball HITS Series 2 High Number Prospects Update product that may be loaded with a bunch of big prospecting names. This one could run based on the checklist if it's similar to a Bowman draft/Bowman Chrome combination of players

Onyx is coming out with probably the best Game Used Bat product to date. 2012 Onyx Clubhouse Collection Lumber Edition Baseball. With only 145 total Bats made, each Bat is an actual Game Used Bat. Niche product. Niche Market but collectors will like these based on the value that you get.

2011/12 UD Exquisite Basketball releases next week. On the heals of Fleer Retro bskt, should be another winner. Speaking of Fleer Retro, there will also be a 2012 Fleer Retro Football product now. Many of the inserts mimic the Bskt. UD is hoping that the success translates over to FB.

Same can be said for Leaf which is debuting 2012 Leaf Best of Football in November. Baseball and Basketball have both faired well in the past. Football should be another successful release from Leaf.

ITG has an interesting product called 2011/12 ITG History of Hockey. It's a similar in concept to "Leaf Best of" but with it's own unique twists and based on the strong following for Dr. Prices' products, the singles market for these cards should do very well.

More to come...
