If UD once again decides to show all the players out of uniform, the set will be a dud like in 2011.

I agree with Kyle. This set was far from a dud. Still sells for over direct cost, which is a rare feat for set-building products nearly a year after release.

Sorry to have to disagree.

The 2009 Goodwin set is the one that was amazing.

And while the 2011 set had a lot of cool subsets and inserts, as will the 2012 set, without the licenses needed to portray players in uniform, the base cards are pretty unappealing. Or does base card design not matter anymore?

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I really enjoyed the set and others did as well. I was able to come out ahead on my case and a half and still keep a master set for myself. A lot of people put this set together last year.

Never bought anything like this before but I might keep an eye on the space debris/meteorite cards.

oh hell....it has authentic Civil War items?

There went the bank...

If there is one thing I am above a cardboard junky it's a civil war historian..

I'm curious to see what they have to iniclude...

HOWEVER, if they purchased and cut up authentic sack coats, frock coats, kepis, etc just to put them in cards I will be BEYOND furious..as original items in decent condition are VERY hard to come by..and are very important. TO cut up these items would be an absolute travesty and I WILL NOT purchase ANY of them if this is the case

anyone with common sense would just take the most beat up rusted out cival war era thing and cut it up... i doubt they'd cut up flags and coats that are in any sort of displayable, decent shape. i know one thing for sure.... they definitely are not putting lead bullets in there. it'll more-or-less be like the napoleon's chair from years past, maybe pieces of lincoln's casket, or some dirt.

Umm, people who actually still collect the cards, as opposed to people like you and your friends whose main objective seems to be ripping cases and selling the "hot" cards for as much money as you can.

Cool

I TOTALLY AGREE !!!! I know there are not too many like myself.....but I still enjoy piecing sets together & not all the sets I do have auto's or game-used, most do.....but not all. I have been collecting-since the days when there was a lot of set builders and TRUE collectors.........not ones who just buy for "flipping" (and I know without those people.....it would make my searches a lot harder......so we must co-exist) or trying to land the big hits, opening a box was fun & nowdays I dont even bother-bought 1 box and a few packs for 2011 and bought 5 boxes in 2007.......THATS IT, in the last 10 years; kinda sad......I miss the fun of opening stuff....but between less funds for the hobby and the variety of cruddy products released......I do the buying of lots/sets/singles these days
