I am a huge fan of Leaf's high-end slab gambles and based on what I have noticed in the past, I would have to believe that there would be no checklist:

2010 Razor Rookie Retro
2011 Leaf Rookie Retro, both had checklists

2010 Leaf Best of Baseball
2012 Leaf Best of Basketball, both had no checklists

I like the rookie retro's over the best series and think you get better value but whatever, I still pre-ordered a case of this stuff. Won't do as many boxes as I did with previous RR releases but I'm hoping it exceeds my expectations.

I also have an unopened box of 2011 LRR - I am considering selling it but - Base to Gold Trout rookie auto's are known to be in there!

Any idea's on a group break format? Team break would run about 50-60 on a 3 caser, if we add the bonus auto slot, it could bring it down considerably.

Did leaf never give an absolute release date for this? The 3 big retailers show a release date of 7/25, 7/27 and 7/31.

I am not shocked that they are popular because they offer an opportunity to get great cards at an affordable price. For example I got a Michael Jordan rookie card out of Rookie Retro and a Connie Mack 1/1 cut signature and a Koufax auto out of 2011 Leaf Ink. However, you need to go in with eyes open, as not every box is a "winner". I also got a few 2011 Rookie Retro boxes where the rookie card book at $50, so I definitely felt hosed on those. Ditto with Leaf Ink, where the condition of some cards and autos was atrocious (shocked they were even included in the product). Leaf should weed out the crappy condition cards or the ones that are valued way less than the cost of the box, then these boxes would be even more attractive.

You sir are the minority (regarding the shocked comment) - this stuff is a gamble for sure, but no different than any other case. Sure, I don't get the base cards and parallels, but it caters to a different collector than your regular series. I don't want base cards and parallels when I open a case of Leaf - I get that from Bowman. I could open a case of 2011 Bowman Chrome for 950 and net back 400 worth. Cases of Rookie retro have been 50% ROI or better.

Plus, how can I not open up a case; my first case (2010 RR) I pulled a Jordan BGS 9 Rc which paid for the case. I've only opened two cases, 2011 was an average case and was over 50% ROI.

Buying a $1 scratch off lottery ticket and winning $20 doesn't mean that: (1) lottery tickets are a good buy; or (2) all lotteries aren't a scam. To each their own, I guess.

totally agree, i just dont like that people value product depending on how many packs or cards come per box or pack. People see that you just get 2 cards in a 200 dollar box and say why would anyone buy that, but then they go out and buy a bowman box with one auto and wind up with a cheap auto (most of the time) and a ton of base. Thats just not for me. For me this is the closest i will ever come to getting a mantle rc. Im not saying im going to pull it but i a different type of collector. This stuff is high risk / high reward. GL to all getting cases. I will be recording mine and everyone should do the same because reaction videos are the best lol
