Panini America today released exclusively to Beckett Media the stunning ensemble known as 2009 Pen Pals, a 31-card, 84-autograph insert slated to drop in the late-January release of 2009 National Treasures Football.

Pen Pals, annually one of football’s most sought after autographed inserts since its inception way back in 1998, first made a splash in the industry by pairing prestigious penmanship from some of the top quarterbacks of all time on one card. More recently, the insert has evolved to focus on rookies.
For football collectors, this year’s Pen Pals insert — with its on-card signatures and ink-color variations — no doubt will rank as one of Panini’s biggest coups from last May’s NFL Players Rookie Premiere.

Its nice that they have on card autos, but alot of those look like #@#@#@#@ when they are bubbled, etc .. you would think they would prep the cards or do something to make sure that doesnt happen - I would be pissed pulling a bubbled graph like that

Awful bubbling on the RAP autos. just inexcuable. You'd think they'd test the marker/card stock combo before having the cards signed.

And the designs for all the subsets look like any oher Panini set. NT has lost the "high end" feel.

i'm pretty bummed about these designs. NT has lost it's nostalgic feel. Panini is recycling the same tweaked design in almost all products so far this year.

i'll stick to buying singles of this stuff this year...i agree with them losing touch to the base product since 06, 07....but I will be looking for some Sanchez logos!

nice patches look like they made a ton of the same patches if u look closely. As far as the design it does not stand out to me for the price that will be paid for a box of this. But we will see soon.
