1,500 Fans Line-Up at Tebow’s 1st Official Autograph Signing

First Public Autograph Session Comes on Heels of Exclusive Deal with Press Pass Inc.
Charlotte, N.C. – Just five days after signing an exclusive Draft Pick trading card agreement with Press Pass Inc., former University of Florida standout quarterback Tim Tebow held his first official public autograph signing at Palm Beach Autographs at the Avenues Mall in Jacksonville last Saturday. Tebow fans came out in droves to the event, with an estimated crowd of 1,500 people seeking the star’s signature. The crowd even included a father-son pair who traveled 800 miles from Pennsylvania in pursuit of an autograph from the record-setting QB who will likely go down as one of the greatest college football players of all time. Fans could pay $160 for an autograph, or $75 for an official photograph with the 6-3, 245-lb. quarterback, with a portion of those proceeds going toward his newly formed Tim Tebow Foundation.
Tebow, who greeted, took photos with and signed autographs for fans, held the autograph signing event in conjunction with the launch of the Tim Tebow Foundation. “It’s an honor to have people want to want you and want to have your autograph and want to be around you,” Tebow said following Saturday’s event. “That’s special to have an opportunity to sign for people, but it’s more special to be able to do things like we’re doing and being able to really just brighten kid’s days in really their darkest hour of need, which is a lot of what my foundation is about.”
Tebow’s first public autograph signing comes only a few days after the three-time Heisman Trophy Finalist announced an exclusive Draft Pick trading card agreement with Press Pass. Tebow’s first-ever autographed trading cards will be included in 2010 Press Pass Football , set for release on March 31st , and are also slated for inclusion in the inaugural Press Pass Portrait Edition, releasing on April 28th. Fans and collectors can also find the first autographed and game-used memorabilia cards from other top rookies in the company’s products, such as Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, Ndamukong Suh and CJ Spiller.
“The excitement around Tim Tebow is like nothing I’ve ever seen,” stated Nick Matijevich, Director of Product Development for Press Pass Inc. “Obviously, it was evident that he was a star during his collegiate career, but as he moves towards the draft, it seems like his popularity is growing. The fact that 1,500 people came out to his 1st public signing is astounding, but his commitment to helping others and being a quality person off the field is a large factor in the way people relate to him. Our company could not be happier with our association with Tim, and we fully expect him to continue his success at the next level.”
During his four years at the University of Florida, Tebow threw for 9,285 yards and 88 touchdowns and now has ownership of five NCAA, 14 SEC and 28 University of Florida records. After helping lead the Gators to a National Championship during his freshman year, Tebow went on to become the first-ever sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and then led his team to a second national championship the following year. Tebow was inducted into the UF Football Hall of Fame in April 2009 and is projected be an early round pick in the upcoming 2010 NFL Draft.
