HEY EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT SPREADS!!!

The way it works is the spread is done by professional odds makers (I think yahoo uses APs spread lines). THEY ARE POSTED ON MONDAY before the games take place and the final spread comes out on Wednesday if there is a Thursday Night game and if there is NOT a Thursday Night game the final spread will be posted on Thursday! Most of the time the home team gives up 3 points (-3) to start with due to home field advantage. There are a few things effect the spread such as key players being hurt, where most people are placing their money, and where the game is being played, here is an easy example:

Week 1:
Favorite Underdog
@Houston vs. Indianapolis (+8.5)

Houston is hosting the game so automatically they are giving Indianapolis 3 points or (Indianapolis +3) BUT since Manning is hurt and will not be playing on Sunday Houston is giving an additional 5.5 points or a total of (Indianapolis +8.5). So if you think that Houston will beat Indianapolis by 9 or more points then pick Houston! If you think that Indianapolis will win OR lose by less than 9 points pick Indianapolis! WHOEVER THE UNDERDOG IS THEY WILL BE GETTING THE POINTS THAT ARE UNDER THE FINAL SPREAD!!!

This is my 3rd year participating in this contest and I have won myself a few boxes ! My personal strategy is very simple and I will give you one of my picks, I am picking Indianapolis so as long as Indianapolis wins or loses by less than 9 points I will win that game! If Indianapolis loses by 9 or more I will have a loss for that game!
