Default New to Fantasy Football - looking for advice

This would be my first real season of FF as I just joined a 14 team league. We dont have draft order yet since the draft is next Monday.

What are basic drafting strategies for having early, middle, and late order of the first round?

My advice is to take the best player on the table. You will want to go RBs and WRs the first two rounds. If you have an early pick in the first round go RB for sure.

Either the first three picks or the last two are the best for a serpentine draft. A good QB will help out too. Just depends on what is available at the time especially since it is a 14 team league.

Get a RB that is not in a committee situation with your 1st pick. If you cannot get one of them then get a top 5 QB and a top 5 WR and wait for a mid round rb

Had the draft last night. Dont think I did very well. I had no idea about bye weeks so it was too late when I started looking at those.

QB - Matt Schaub
WR - Roddy White
WR - Dwayne Bowe
RB - Michael Turner
RB - Brandon Jacobs
TE - Jason Witten
WR - Danny Amendola
RB - Michael Bush
WR- Robert Meachem
TE - Rob Gronkowski
QB - Colt McCoy
BN - Missing bench player cause I drafted someone on IR and didnt know.
K - Adam Vinateri
DEF - Baltimore

for a 14 team that isnt too bad. I mean you got a good rb, with jacobs who I think will rebound this year, at least on the TD front. Bush is a DMC injury away from starting, lol.

Wr is pretty decent with white/bowe....loss of some other weapons hurts bowes value imo, more coverage headin his way...not to mention cassel banged up. Roddy will get his targets, but I think Julio gonna cut in a lil...on flip side may actually help em, we'll see.

Qb, mixed feelings on Schaub, has the weapons to do damage, and I am sure he will have a decent year, just Fosters emergence takes off some yards, and possible TDs. Sometimes schaubs just inconsistent on his own too.

TE is solid, always been a love affair with romo/witten (sometimes i think more off the field then on, LOL!).

Ok depth, just watch waiver wire...may find an emerging diamond...every year someone seems to come out of the woodwork.

Defense - solid

kicker, meh its a kicker

-Unless it is a PPR league i don't like Amendola very much, but he's the guy along with Gibson in St Louis. For your bench i'd seriously consider a Jason Snelling as Turner is one of the riskier picks this year to slow down as the year progresses/get hurt simply due to age, workload etc.

For 14 team league the draft looks like it went well for you. Good luck.

Pretty solid for a 14 team league. Best part is that you don't have any players on your team that I have on mine. Players on my team seem to suffer from an IR curse I give them.

I drafted Bush for exact reason mentioned. No way I trust DMC not to get injured this year!

We get points for return yds and TDs so that's why I went with Amendola. I am checking to see who is still available and dont see much.

Snelling was drafted.

I really didnt do any research at all for the draft. Just went with what I saw was available and their stats from previous year that was shown in the Yahoo draft thingie.

I am watching the wires but most of the people in the league have too much time! It's only $30 so no big deal. I should get 2nd in my baseball roto league and can afford it. Hopefully get first tho!

Got blown out first week and won by 0.60 pt this week. Pretty lucky that Jacobs got some yards during the last few mins.
