Default What's everyone's opinion on these?

I've seen a few of these online and I think my LCS has a few as well. What are your opinions on them?

I don't know a whole lot about them. I'm assuming they weren't released from the mint this way but I'm not sure. Do they have more value than a regular one? less? no difference one way or the other? Just curious...

I'm not a fan. I know some are hand painted but don't look near as good as those. Smack has some I'm his sale thread and are not carrying a premium over non painted eagles.

I don't collect coins, but if I did I wouldn't want them painted.

My opinion: They look cool, but they don't fit my stack.

Having collected coins for a number of years, these don't really have any value. Consider these in the same realm as Nascar Collector's Plates. They may look cool, but no real value. The only value these have, is the silver value, and you may not even get that. The scrapper you sell them to may charge you a fee, i.e. give you less for your silver, to remove the paint.

They usually come from Littleton Coin Company or American Historic Society Coins. The US Mint has never, and will never, colorize coins.

not only do they not add value, they actually lose value. hen you go to resell them, you have cut your customer base from a million people or so, down to probably 1,000. VERY hard to sell, and you usualy have to sell at a loss. And they are hideous.

I have a few of them also have some that are for 2011
That have the towers painted on the back. My son loves the look of them so when I can get them cheap enough I buy them up. Because in the long run I believe its still an oz of silver any there will always be value there

These colorized ASEs usually sell less than the normal ASEs
