Default Does NGC ever do grading specials?

I've got about 100 coins I'd like to get slabbed and am in no rush for return. Is $18 a piece really the lowest price out there?

unless you're spending big coin with them... $20,000+ a year I don't think you are going to see much.

I used to do a lot of grading with their Paper money division and now with comics.. my grading fees last year were around $22,000 and while I didn't see any discounts above their top tier subscription rates... They did get me some better turn around times than normal.

Not really.. There is big money in coins and currency... Lots of VERY wealthy people are in numismatics. believe me.. they consider even $20,000 a year in grading fees pretty much chump change. There are some companies that spend 500k a year in grading fees.
