Default Need Some Help... Was Just Gifted a Bunch of Stuff...

ANd I figured this would be the place to ask. My grandmother just gave me a whole bunch of older coins/money that I have no idea how to even approach sorting. All of it from what I can tell is pre-1969 and ranges from wheat pennies to Kennedy half dollars. In the lot, there is about $250 worth of half dollars, and a good $10 worth of wheat pennies, with the rest being of various ages and countries. I haven't really had time to go through the lot yet, but can anyone PM me some links for me to get started sorting this stuff by value?

I just found some older indian head pennies, Morgan dollars, and mercury dimes as well. My father said he would assist me later, as I am practically null on this genre of collecting.

That much I know haha. She also gifted me a nice collection of glassware to pass on to my kids, and their kids, and so on.

I'd be willing to purchase some of the 90% quarters and half dollars if you have any!

Extremely jealous. Wish I had grandparents like that!

For $12 you can buy a 2015 Redbook here that will give you an idea of what you have and it's general value. 2015 Red Book of US Coins Replaces 2014 Spiralbound Softcover Redbook | eBay

If I was you I would hold onto these as down the road the sentimental value of who you got them from will far outweigh any silver or potentially numismatic value you will get out of them now.

Take it to a coin store and see what they offer you. Then double what they tell you. That should be close to the value of it. Foreign coins unless silver or gold typically not that valuable. Really 90% silver your grandma saved over the years is bullion. Unless you have key dates. I dumped most of the bullion i got from my dad when silver was at $40. No sentimental value in junk silver to me. The gold coins, CC morgans i keep as a keepsake. I do have his Buck knife from Nam that has sentimental value as well as some jewelry. Good luck with your gift from Grandma.
