Default Silver question: Is there a specific brand that is better for bars

Title says it all. I am interesting in investing in silver and am mainly looking to buy at the lowest price possible. Because of this, I was interested in bars over coins. Does it matter what brand of bar I buy or are they all the same? Thanks.

Depends on what you want to do with the silver. If it's for collecting than go with the major premium brands. If it's just to hedge against world destruction or inflation go with the cheapest generic silver. Bars and rounds have pretty much the same premium. Coins are legal tender so they cost more.

I personally would recommend 100 ounce bricks with one of the major companies.

For generic bars and coins how much over spot should they cost per oz?

You can find 10 oz bars for 80 cents over spot. And maybe even cheaper if buying from an individual instead of a business.
