You are all over the place.
This is good because it is key, this MAY be good, IF a movie is made and THIS is in it,etc, etc.

I mean, you clearly are chasing the HYPE meter on some of these, based on movies and POSSIBLE movies, Yet you do not mention Ironman 55. It's hype has taken it from a book that could be had at 150.00 for VF+ to one you would be hard pressed to find under 400 for the same quality ungraded. Graded..what a jump in price
Ghost rider #1 ?
Yah
I have 1-9, but I think the western is a better buy as Nick Cage did so bad in the last ghost rider that the odds of another being released is far fetched which will hamper the demand and eventually effect the value.

Good video
Keep it up
No one will agree across the board, that's just the nature of the beast, but at least you are taking time to toss it up there

OH!
Also to address a comment about hulk 181 vs value and growth

I stopped collecting in 1992
#181 could be had for 150-175 then.
20 years later, what, 500-600 ?
Xmen 94 was 125, same situation ?>
I watched my Avengers #1 i paid 400.00 go up to a book that sells for several thousand, same on a lot of my books
I think if a person has no issue with a 10-20 year investment, then current market won't be bad due to demand never going away

Keep up the good work !

It's always a good time to buy Key Comics in good shape. Their value rarely goes down, usually only the other way. I'd like to see a study done with comics vs stock market gambling. I'm thinking comics are a safer bet.

As far as Ghost Rider #1, I agree it's a cool comic, and one I have owned and sold multiple times. I'd love to get another one for my collection as I love the character and the cover, but I don't think it's got huge potential to jump in value. It hasn't done much in regards to growth with two movies, I don't see it racing up in value any time soon, although it will still grow due to scarcity and condition issues.

But it's value will maintain and grow steady where as Johnny Blaze's characters #1 will stagnate and stop and show minor growth after a period of time and I mean YEARS

A good copy of Ghost Rider western will bring a premium, Ghost rider #1 will not.
Hence my view it is the better buy.
Much like buying Walking dead #1. It's a fad comic in a fad age. We all know these books. Go back and reflect on magnus Robot Fighter #1 and it's 200.00 tag 9 months after release in 1992 VS it's value now.
Image was my fav when they went live, I still think spawn is so underrated to the point of being a conspiracy to keep it's values down.
However, I do know that the market and the buyer class is fickle and tends to go from 1 whim to another unlike what the hobby was in the 80's

Per the market

I think you should roll back and reflect on ups and downs in the market as well as the hobby, they parallel. But that is a setup since when a nation goes into a recession EVERYTHING goes down due to financial insecurity :0

per value VS money spent, if 1 book= 1 share at say 3.00, then yes. Per a direct relation, dollar for dollar.
A stock is not purchased in single issue lots and people do not buy 10,000 of a book, different beasts. So in relation to averages, stocks will surpass comics in income generated.....but in income loss, comics hold the backseat to stocks there since no one has spent 10 million on a single issue and seen it go to insolvency and be worth less than a fraction of a penny A comics LEAST value is .10 and no stock can claim that

I purchased a company's stock that was openly traded in 1998. A person I did work for was an investor "whom was later indicted for insider trading lol" and gave me a tip.
he said if I spend 8-10k before December I would see double by the end of January. Now,this guy started mail.com and was in possession of what I consider the baddest machine ever built...the 1971 Baraccuda, He had purcahsed it in the 80's as an investment, had work and restoration done and when I saw it ...I wanted to...marry it lol. I mean, without a doubt the msot in-demand and highest valued American factory roll out on the planet....I digress.

Needless to say I had faith,but not 10k :P
I purchases this stock at 1.81 and purchased 1390 shares. The wife was pissed, but like everyone, money won is better than money earned and if he was right, this wasn't earning

January the pinks come out, this company has developed a way to synthesize red diamonds used for military purposes. 11.64 a share when I sold....i sold early, it hit 32.00+ a share, then vanished.
I am assuming the company went private, but the gain vs the money out and the time waited was incredible

Then again, remember Ovt of...06 ? Bill Gates losing 4 billion in 1 day ?

Comics are safer

Sorry about the run on, medicated posting is almost as bad as people I see drunk posting :P

It was a fun read Gib. Comics are safer and more fun to read.

I also appreciate the art and study and learn from them as an aspiring artist.

you are 100% right and i have actually researched that very thing a little bit and yes the comics are the winner. there was even some reports on the yahoo front pages a few times over the years saying how comic book investing was better then your 401k. that why more big money players are entering the comic industry. 99% of the time with any book thats silver age or older they dont go down.

i agree with you most people will not draw to the original ghost rider book and that character theoretically made an appearance in ghost rider 1 as the other western rider at the end. still a great book to own as i myself have a 8.0 copy of it.
