Places to buy books

I tend to see people offering books on ebay that are not competitively priced or are so past what it can still be purchased for it's borderline silly

I order my new books from Midtown Comics - The Best Online Comic Book Shop - Buy Spider-Man, Superman, Batman Comics, Toys, more
Usually I can get issues for 2.15-2.45
Pre-order issues seem to run me 1.94

I usually buy multiple copies of a pre-order so I tend to save 1.00+/ea over what they cost me to buy anywhere else so buying 5 books or more usually offsets the shipping cost.

I search Midtown 1st for newer issues as well.
Secondly I search CCL Comic Collector Live - Buy, Sell, Organize Comic Books, Action Figures, Comic Art, and More
You will see some outright stupid prices here more often than not,but for filling older titles there are soooo many shops with .50 books and free shipping on purchases 20-30.00
I picked up 390 Uncanny X-Men for 183.00 dlvd. Not sure about you but I can price back issues at 2.00/ea and they sell,so it works well for me.

FInally,ebay :)

I tend to check for a title at all 3 locations, then narrow down the issue number and see where my best bet it.
the good thing about CCL is if a book gets hot and you ge on quick you can obtain books selling well for cover still, but you have to be fast :)

I know there are a multitude of places, but these seem to be most effective and beneficial for myself.

I use those 3 as well... But most of my current titles come from my LCS and i will also always check things from another world Online Comic Book Store - Things From Another World

Yah, there is no LCS here tbh, well, I guess I would be it but i only do new for myself. There is no comic market here beyond silver-age :)

The nearest LCS sells for cover, you preview ? Still cover :) Add that to a 22 mile drive...nope.

I was at TFAW today for the 1st time. Stuff I was looking to buy was back ordered and the stuff I preorder on midtown was .40 per book higher, which is not a lot,but does add up

I book marked them today as well, never hurts to have a resource as you never know who will have what when ya need it ;)

Also, for Preordering I use MMcomics and DCBS. You might give them a look.

Donovan,CuriousGoodsNcomics, on CCL has set me up with my monthly chew issues.
Says minimum is 25% off cover, which would put me at TFAW prices and up to 45% off, would be below Midtown prices, depending on how big his pre-order is each month.

So,going to go with him for a few months and see how that goes.
Hell, if I can save 10.00/mo on my issues and have them delivered...I am all for it ;)

there is Donovan's seller Link
Send him questions if ya like. I would say my favorite seller on the site, period. I picked up so many books from his .50 piles. All of my avengers books came from him,so it was nice to see 6.00 in books list on ebay and sitting at 55.00 for the same books :)

Since you told me about Comic Collector Live, without reading this thread he has been the only seller I bought from. I really like his shipping costs and of course the cost of his books.

I tell ya, PERIOD, he is as fair as they get on pre 2010 stuff.
Like myself, his newer stuff, he gets what he has in it or it sits :)
I know if i have 2.00 in a book and it dies, it's still 2.00 or people can stare at it :)
You get to buying LOTs from him and he takes care of ya.
I picked up 3 long boxes from him awhile back and he tossed in 20-25 Bronze age spider-man,Defenders and avengers.
probably a stack of 5.00 books. So, I,in return, gave them to a restaurant who makes shadowbox tables for their customers to eat at,so they would have some unique books instead of newer or more common stuff

I also realized that if you want a deal, ask. he will not mind listening to offers and a LOT of guys won't do that. they come at you with "ebay this" and stop replying, not Don :)
