Default Buying Comics

Looking for the following

Westerns 1954-1965 (VG or better)
Science fiction titles such as Incredible Science Fiction, Weird Science, etc. Possible interest in ECW reprints, just depends
4-color 1954-1968
Chew 1-current
Xmen 1-130
Uncanny Xmen 131-current

Modern Marvel mainstream characters from 2006 to current (Spiderman,Xmen,Xforce, etc, etc)

I run a small store, I resell these. Making purchases based on general customer interest
I do well with odd-ball stuff. Beverly Hillbillies, I love Lucy, I dream of Genie, Roy Rogers .... most of my customers are 50+ yrs old,so it's nostalgia for them

Last time i was there I bid a few grand on a large lot of non-sport and was oddly outbid at the last minute by a bid that was easily 1400 over full retail. I ignore the place as I think there is a lot of "Auction mentality" going on and paying 20-30% more than an items value isn't worth my time

Oh there totally is. I've seen Batman comics that that in the condition I see have a value of $65 go for $150+ cause people get caught up in bidding wars. I don't recommend buying comics at auctions, but if you can get into a lot cheap with some decent stuff, I do that, but never buy single books as it's just too insane.

I jsut find it easier to walk into a comic shop and tell them you are looking to buy Silver-Age for resell and tell them you are looking to spend 1000-2000
They will push for the 2000 mark and you just whittle it down from there.
Greed gets them every time.
Doesn't work on new stuff unless the shop is hurting. but old stuff, sells so slow, works like a charm. Was in Savannah all week and was going to hit 2 shops down there but time got away from me.
