My 8/15/12 pick ups at the Comic Store

Here's what I picked up today





and then in the back catalog I found this NM copy of Thor #345 for $2 (1st cover appearance of Malekith!)

Picked up my comics earlier this evening: Wonder Woman #12, Birds of Prey #12, Batwoman #12. This week's Batwoman is quite ridiculous. The art is super detailed and the layouts are absolutely gorgeous (stunningly so)! Wonder Woman is my favorite character so I was glad to see her make a cameo throughout the book.

I am worried though because I am sensing a crossover. Being a somewhat new-ish comics reader, I do not know if I can handle this whole crossover thing. The crossover forced me to drop Batman and Swamp Thing. I just do not have the time or the organization skills to keep track of what titles belong to what crossovers. Is this a problem for anyone else?

Edit: Also, Indy, if I want to start reading Walking Dead, can I start at #100 and pretty much understand what is going on (with the understanding that a moderate amount of confusion is to be expected)?

No. If you're going to jump in now and the cheapest way would be to start with issue #97 as book #100 is the 4th book in this story arc. Something happens in book #100 that the previous 3 lead up to, plus something major happens in #98 is well. It'll be a MUCH better read if you come on board with issue 97

I happen to agree with the art in Batwoman. It's phenominal.

Thanks, Indy! Good thing I asked! lol I would have super unhappy reading the conclusion to the arc before actually reading the arc. My LCS is constantly out of Walking Dead issues so I might just get it on Comixology since I do not really collect comics. (I just kind of read them, sometimes reread them, and then pass them on.) Thanks again!

I'd offer you some cheap copies, but I've sold almost every extra one I had in the past two weeks. The stuff has been on fire. I think I only have 2 extra copies of #99 left, and I'm hanging onto them because they have 3 page Revival Preview in them.

Aw thanks, Indy! I think I am going to break down and get a bunch of them on comixology. Well, the "on fire" part would certainly explain the stock outs at the LCS! (I know, I know...I am so new! ) While I am dipping into digital, I will probably catch up on Terry Moore's Rachel Rising, Chew, and Punisher (can't go wrong with Rucka!).
