Default No comic chatter today...

Got my laptop up on yahoo stat tracker for my fantasy teams, kick off an hour away, belly full of lunch and my workout done. Just waiting for all the 1 o'clock games to start and no new chatter on the comic boards. Let's get to it comic afficianados <-----spelled that right the first time!

It sounds like you're about to kick off a great day of football, but I hate to burst your bubble, but it's spelled aficionados.

I've been dealing with a leaky roof and monster storms in Indy Friday night. Haven't read any comics in a couple days. I have a copy of Damsels #1 I want to read soon.

Afficianados
Aficionados
This stupid $900 IPad super spell checker piece of crap. It lists both as the correct spelling!
Maybe one is the Italian version??
Blame the iPad not my college teachers....here I thought I was a good speller.
Thanks Dlolobo

If you are taking spelling in college, that might be a problem in and of itself

To help stay on topic , I've read Batman 12, Wonder Woman 12, and the new Hawkeye by Fraction and Aja. Capullo and Snyder on Batman is fantastic, if you haven't checked it out yet.

+1 on Aja. I first saw his work when he did a one-shot on "Secret Avengers" with Ellis last year and have been waiting for him to do an ongoing ever since. The art is absolutely gorgeous and so stylistically distinct from anything else that is out there. The internal logic and "movement" of the story as told through the art is, at once, fluid and surprisingly dynamic.

"Hawkeye" was a welcomed bright spot in my comics diet this week. I pulled a bunch of the DC #0 issues, and I am not too crazy about them. Like at all. I might just drop the rest of the #0s from my pull lists this month. The whole mess just feels totally contrived and way too market-y, even by DC standards.

The other bright spot for me this week was "The Road to Oz," which has the phenomenal Skottie Young on art. The story is funny, timely, and clever but really, all I need to see is Skottie Young and I'm sold.
