Default Picked up some old Batman off a guy today
I know an older guy who has collected books since the 60's and every once in a while he lets me buy a few of his single owner awesome condition copies. Today I picked up these three Batman.

Batman #227


Batman #244


Batman #286 (Near Mint!)

Beautiful books. Do you know who the cover artist is for 227? It's gorgeous.

Some schlub named Neal Adams !! It's one of the most popular covers of that time period. Highly sought after book and typically not cheap even in VG condition. It's basically his homage to the cover of Detective #31



Adams also did the cover and art on #244 with Ras Al Ghul on the cover.

It's good to learn about these old comics. You'll NEVER know what you'll come across is collections or old backstock bins..

Any chance the guy has readable ones available? I have about 10 or so of these. But I dont collect I just read them.

He has some lower grade reader copies. Anything specific you're looking for? I'm supposed to meet up with him next week as I have a couple other other people looking for certain titles as well. He's mostly got DC stuff, very little Marvel.

Just looking. For the Batman from the 60's or earlier or so. Nothing particular. I do like the Joker. Any idea on price for a few?

Well, I no longer own #227. Just sold it. I'm keeping the other two though. They're just in too nice of condition and on books this old, that's hard to find.

Those are typically 15-20 bucks each, but I'll see if he has even cheaper stuff, but it'll be more rough, but if all you want are readers I'll see what I can find.
