Default Comic Book Men

I love comic books, love the hobby, but can't stand that show. It just tries way too hard IMHO. Plus, I'm not a fan of Kevin Smith and him just being on screen irritates me.

There might be things you can learn from watching it, but all I saw in the 5 mins I watched last night were kids and some party with clowns.

I agree with you on all points. Plus to me it feels very forced and set up.

So much potential, yet it feels like they are trying to create situations for no reason. Someone should make a youtube show like "The Game Chasers" but for comics.

I have watched it from the beginning and think it is good. The last episode wasn't good with the kids birthday party.

I'm just glad there is something about comics even on tv.

I like Kevin smith, but his show is a lowball, rape fest

When I saw the lot from season 1 with the Conan #1, Nick Fury #1, FF #9 and more, be lowballed for a few hundred I just gave up
The #9 was on ebay and was F+ and went for 780.00
They used the grease pen as a point for saying it was worthless mostly
Piss on them

Not enough comics and especially not enough modern comics. Yet its still interesting if you are into collectibles including toys and stuff.

If you can't hop on the internet and find out what something is worth (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE OF A KIND ITEMS), then you kinda have it coming when you get taken when selling to a business.

Wow I lost allot of respect for a couple people here. comic book fan makes good after struggling to keep his shop open for fifteen years. Finally starts to pick up and y'all dont like him. Kevin Smith is one of the funniest and most original writers out there and comic Book men is easily one of the best shows on TV.

You are generalizing

I dislike his shops practice of lowballing, I love KS as a director and actor...2 totally different things.

per ebay...no. You know better than that. You know the crap people go through when trying to look stuff up with no idea what it is, how to grade it,etc...protecting people, having fun and making money is how I operate...bending people over who do not know any better.....if you can justify that, please, avoid me
I get given flak by my father because I educate people. I tell them their books sell value and then offer a price based on time I will own the book, etc, but I still tell them what it is worth.....sometimes they walk, but they walk happy. I will get accused of being many things at my grave, being dishonest or hiding things to make a buck won;t ever be one of them

It's like pawn shop for comics. They need to make money from it as well or they will have no buisness. If you want what it's worth you have to do the work of seeking it yourself
to the right buyer

No, it is not

if a book sells aggressively for 500.00,offering 200.00 is a rip
If a book is valued at 500 and sells slow, 200 is fair.
That is the difference.
It's like the 3 Xmen 94's the guy has for me, they are all F/VF, I will pay him 70% of what I can sell them for since I know they will be gone in less than 7 days. The profit off of each one is sufficient. But offering him 30% of value, because I fell like jerking him is not fair. Overhead doesn;t come into play since to say so means you are gambling on such a deal happening ever week
Overhead is covered by your subscription boxes on a store that offers new books. If your pull lists or trackable new book sales do not cover your overhead then you suck at what you are doing and should operate out of a flea market....In general, not directed at you
