The man in question is bigboytoys. I don't see how it is anyone's business to be angry at a guy's eBay listing. If someone will pay it, what does anyone care. Good luck with that sale!!

It's hard to say. You could definitely sell now and make a profit and be happy with it, or wait a few weeks and do BIN's and be patient. It's only got a 7k print run, not a lot of them out there and as long as people are excited about it and the series continues to make news, it'll be hot.

It is just a marketing trick used to draw more eyeballs. People are not stupid to buy that thinking it is Todd. I don't understand the negative reaction either but that is the CGC boards in general.

Hehe don't worry about it guys..No big deal for me Just like in huge companies it is a marketing thing. you know how companies spend a lot of money to pay to hire ITs who can bump them up on search engines and such? Kinda the same thing And it could be indeed the next hit we'll never know?

I know how it is around there in CGC. i just go through my business and that's it It's all good

Thanks Indy for the advice.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of other titles. I know this is not a race but sometimes it is also good to get out early while we can. Not all books can be winners so I was wondering when do we just cut loss.

A profit is a profit either way that's how I see it..

Indy could pitch in or add to this but my deal is let's say for example I have 30 Todds which I bought for cover so let's say $100 inclusive of shipping.

Once on the speculation phase... (which I saw Todd hit $7-$9 then) I would sell half of my stash a that price.. let's say I hit just $7 each for 15 copies that is $105...I already got my money back...

Then out of the 15 I send 1-3 for grading... Then the 12 I keep for long term...

On the 2nd phase which is possible movie or tv news I sell some again but I do it on smaller numbers maybe 3 at a time until prices stabilize. (so this will pay out for the grading and a little profit)

Lastly on the TV show pilot almost done phase, I will sell the graded books when it comes back to me then. Then sell like another half of what's left then send the rest for another grading

That way from the very start of speculation you are not losing anything and will have the peace of mind on letting the books be tucked away in your boxes for a period of time

Moderns. I sell everything as fast as I can. There will always be another production company buying another title. 10% of my profit goes back to costs of cons, POP toys, OA, etc. The rest of the profit either goes to more moderns to flip or low grade Silver age. And I always flip enough to have $0 cost. Like EoW I'm probably sitting on 150 copies of #1 and 40-50 copies of #1-4. I sold enough that all that inventory doesn't cost me anything.

Solid advice guys.

Unforunately, my shipping costs (USD14 for first comic) works against me in selling anything that is less than USD25 in total. It is only during big price increase such as this that I can profit.

So far, all my profits come from such instances: sixth gun, rachel rising and now todd.

For titles such as Helheim, which I don't expect to have such tv or movie rumors, I typically need to take a loss to sell and get back some cash. I have learned since then not to buy everything like you guys can.

I sold most of my Todd #1 raw for $14.50 each a month and a half ago. Have also sold two graded, one at $100 and the other at $125... I still have some raw #1s left as well as one graded. I have made my money a few times over on this title but I still hate to leave money on the table so I am patient with BINs. Unless a book is white hot, I would always go with a BIN.

Time to relax and watch the show

Managed to snag 20 copies of #1 second print for a touch over cover delivered.

With the print run of around 5k and news just breaking I'm hopeful these will at least go 2x cover now.

Currently, the price seems to be stuck at USD50.
Still a good price but for Todd to break the USD100 mark, we probably need to wait for more developments and news.

couldnt agree more.
every now and then i roll through cgc to research threads, et cetera, and am blown away by the negative environment and constant bickering found throughout pages of certain threads. dont get me wrong, common discussions and disagreements are healthy, however not when it turns into a contest. to me it seems a little more relaxed on here with veterans helping others out, solid advice, and no concern to the number of posts= validity (i.e. indy, burt reynolds, carbeaz, john, hilfiger, et cetera) and new individuals doing the same (e.g. tommyvoltage, scottie, aaronchua etc...)

JUNKIES RULE!!!

CGC has its place. It is a great resource and generally, the folks on that board are pretty nice and will offer good advice. Though, the "douche vs helpful" ratio on that site can be pretty bad at times.

I think the madness still slimmer a bit for now.

It will be interesting to see the prices for the auctions.
If they end up anywhere near the BINs, then it will probably be a mad rush for those. If the auctions fall way short, then folks are probably going to wait for the next auction to come up.

We shall see.

Looks likes my buyer has not pay me.
Hopefully, he will not then I get to keep my 3 copies. Hehehe.

If the sale falls through, I will probably list them here in case any junkies missed getting an affordable copy.

Somebody sold 10 raw copies at $599. Remember to always require immediate payment on your BINS.

I gave folks 48 hours. Probably too much time
If this guy doesn't pay, it will be my second non paying buyer this month. How lucky!
