I jizzed in my pants and all, but is anyone else a little worried about how the zombies look? I'm hoping the mass CGI shots are the only thing that looks bad.

Did you notice that when they're in a group running down the alley or climbing up one another it looks like when people would get into a fit on the Flintstones of Looney Tunes cartoon?

while it might work this way, I was actually hoping to see a movie that was a series of vignettes that followed the book. It would have been way cooler to see different actors for a small part of the larger picture.

plus, the running zombies? They must have made Max Brooks see $$$ to change things like that.

i feel like the whole zombie genre is getting bastardized. It's not scary that they can sprint. I mean, yeah, that would scare the #@#@#@#@ out of me. The scary part is that they don't stop. You wear down and make a mistake.

oh well.

It has kids in it. Kids ruin movies, especially sci-fi.. I hope they get eaten.

28 Days Later had Running Zombies, and it made bundles of money.

First, we were Ninja'd to death.

Then, we were Vampired to death.

Now, we're being Zombied to death.

I understand how books and movies go with the "hot hand" until they stop making profits, so why not keep draining our wallets until we get tired of zombies next? I'm not sure if the next phase to drain our wallets is Unicorns or Chupacabras, but let's face it; we'll all be ready to just fork out cash for the next phase no matter what it is.

I disagree. I like the concept and idea. I'm ok with a different form of zombie, I actually think one that can run, jump, and move faster then you is much scarier. I always thought a walking dead type zombie would be pretty easy to escape from....

very true. but the main menacing feature with oldschool zombies hasn't been speed, dexterity, or cleverness. It's just been their nearly indestructible, indefatigable pursuit, and overall numbers that get you.

the fear would be to get cornered after making a bad decision due to fatigue or hunger.

Yeah, but imagine everything you outline...number, indestructible, and pursuit, but add the speed element!! I would rather have 1000 Betty White type zombies chasing me then 1000 Usain Bolt zombies...Just Sayin.

I'm ok with the fast moving zombies, but the graphics in the movie look bad. The zombie hordes look like a mudslide as they move.

As for fast moving zombies....not all zombies would be fast. When a fatty dies and becomes a zombie, they'll still be a fatty. Once a fatty always a fatty, so they shouldn't be fast. Neither would the elderly. Although this is all hypothetical.

No....think about it....ANTS.....I have not read this book but was told it was amazing and to avoid spoilers I do not wish to know any more, I have ordered it today to read.
per "Fatty" fatty is limited to energy stores. Normal fat people get winded and whine. if you have no drive but food and are near mindless, I think you would have more energy on tap and do better than the "Skinny" zombies
Only we, as people, limit ourselves. Our bodies are capable of so much more if the mind will let it

I guess I should have explained myself better. I read the book when I was on federal jury duty a few years back. I don't remember anything from the book being in that trailer. I loved the book, it was cool. Loved the audio book, it was even more cool. I guess I was hoping for a faux documentary type of movie instead of what looks like an action movie.

Yes, you're right. I remember watching his Shakespearean performance in Interview with the Vampire thinking I was in in Hell.
