If you're looking for flip and you make a profit, then I'll say no. That's a lot of books to flip though, let us know how you do.

Know this though, Batman books in general are heavily printed. Batman and Spider-Man are the two most printed comics almost every month.. That means if you buy into them heavily and the book sucks, you're stuck with a bunch of books, but this "Death in the Family" arc has driven a lot of people to Bat-mania, so you might just do well, but it's a weird hobby.. Sometimes I buy into books I think will do well, i.e. Dracula #1, and they don't sell. I think I still have 30 of them in a box. - but then there's Revival and Bedlam which helps make up for it.. I'm taking a big gamble on My Little Pony right now as well. I'm "thinking" it'll do well, but it's all speculation. Kinda like Ballcards in a way, but over time, if you're patient, you'll be able to sell them somehow.

It's always a safe bet to just tip your toe in, learn more about buying/selling comics, buy small, wait for mania to hit the title, then sell them, rather then jumping head first into the lake because you really don't want hundreds of comics lying about, especially if you're not reading them.. That's really what drew me back into comics, I started reading them again, and now I'm buying all sorts of stories each week. If I think a title will do well, I'll buy 3-10 of them, but really try and limit how often I do that. If I REALLY feel like it's going to be big, ala Bedlam, then I'll buy 20-50 of them months in advance saving a lot of $$$ because I pre-order.. That's really the best way IMHO. If a book turns out poorly on resell, you're not as heavily damaged in the pocketbook.

Spidey is going to have a huge print run...not sure how valuable it will be. I'd say dump the variants as soon as you see a rise in price...I don't see them holding value very long. The Ditko or Quesada might, but those will be the only ones.

Just my 2 cents.

The Ditko is going to be TOUGH to get and EXPENSIVE but it'll be a money maker I'm sure as there will be high end collectors for it, especially if you can get it graded 9.8 or higher.

FWIW, from what I've heard from the author of Spider-Man #698 could be a key issue.

+1 - May be a major issue that is unable to meet demand

Like Indy has said, I've come a long way as far as comics/speculation goes. I joined BO because I'm a nerd when it comes to message boards, sports in particular. I primarily put my hobby $ into cards because I was one of those people chasing the big hit that I could spin into. Few hundred bucks, and if I hit the big one maybe more. Problem being I can't really afford to buy hobby and resorted to retail for a long time.

As I mentioned before about being a forum junkie, the box break and hobby talk threads weren't enough, which is when I went to the OT section and stumbled upon a few Indy "hot comic pick" threads. I found myself going to the OT board hunting down those topics. A few months later and here we are with our own forum, for all of us in search of the next Walking Dead meanwhile enjoying the stories told within. Each one of us has the grown up kid running wild within. I've read more comics the last few months which 1 year ago would still have not had regained my interest as I have now.

A big thanks to all of you really. I can't get enough of this stuff and since most books typically run $3-$4, it's easy to get what I want to read and what I think will be hot to essentially let my hobby pay for itself.

To the higher ups within BO, it may just be my opinion but with the success and activity of the CBJ forum I think it'd be a worthwhile business venture to expand their business to BO cards & comics!

Well the truth is, if you have no problem listing, packing, and collecting on 250 books then I guess your fine. These things are supply vs demand, and listing 50 + of each book may reduce the demand a little. Plus I assume your using ebay, can't imagine the fees from them then paypal, then shipping this will run you.

All the best with moving these!!

I just don't see any of these being "flip worthy." The final print runs/orders on all of the DOTF books moving forward has been/will be corrected to meet demand.

Good luck though!
