Default Walking Dead #1 sells for 10K on Ebay

Why do we grade books? Hrm.. It may help with future value. maybe?!

A copy of The Walking Dead No. 1 sold on eBay Wednesday for $10,100, an unusually large sum for a comic book published in the 21st century. The copy earned a 9.9 out of 10 mint rating from CGC, the benchmark comic's appraisal service.

I take offense to that Holy Grail heading on that listing! As a long time Superman fan.... there is only one Holy Grail!! and also GOOD LAWD!!!! that is alot of money!!

Well after eBay and PayPal are done with their fees, the seller is looking at a net of about $96-97.

I love TWD and all but I hardly think that the #1 issue is the Holy Grail of comics.

Lot of low-feedback buyers on this one. I'm guessing the only legit bid was the guy with 4K+ feedback.

A cgc 9.9 sold in March for $7700. Wonder if it's the same copy. Crazy.

defenetly not the holy grail of comics. but it's probably the hottest new title in a long long time. this is a issue that went completly un noitced at time of release . not many were printed and no one would have guessed how popular it would be .

it is the holy grail of the past 10 years or so . think about it , how many "new " titles are there that are extremely popular ? not many . the books that remain popular today are the books that were born years ago , batman , spider, x men , etc.etc. you cant realy name many "new" characters that have even come close to the popularity of alot of the original super heroes.

one of the more recent characters that has gained great popularity is deadpool .
