Only found 4 of 15.1. Also picked up all 5 covers of ASM 700 for $54.95 after tax.
He would only sell me one of the bundles.

Got one from Midtown. Is buying from Midtown a secret or something that fools would plop down more money on ebay?

It's a very minor cameo... not all that important in the sceme of things, I don't see it developing into much more than a $10-$12 book in the long run.

Also I think a LOT of the price is the non-comic fan reading or hearing things like this and thinking they will get rich
Landmark 700th issue brings new, 'Superior' Spider-Man

And picking up 700. I was in the shop for about an hour shooting the sh#t and 7 folks who had never been in the shop, nor comic fans came in and were loading up on 700.

Kindly one of them told me I had the "wrong" comic when he saw my 15.1's sitting on the counter.

They don't think to even look at a DD comic for Spiderman.

I think 15.1 is going up just due to the run.

I have a feeling 15.1 will end up out pacing 700 as far as price.

Long term, just based on the run I think you are right.

My shop ordered 200 of 700 which is unheard of for him. He was down to maybe 40-50 left and they were still flying off the shelf.

But by ordering 200 copies, they also should get one of the Ditcko variants for $4 and be able to sell it for $300 at the shop no problem based on ebay sales being even higher. Not to mention all the other high dollar 1:25-1:150 variants.

It sounds like 15.1 will be the long term winner in value. Anyone got any guesses as to print runs yet? I'm new to the game so my guess is probably a joke, but I'll take a stab anyways;

Amazing #700 = 350,000 copies
Avenging #15.1 = 55,000 copies

How far off am I?

And I think I'm still doing my searches properly, but it looks like midtown is now out of all versions of 700 except for the Stan Lee and Romita signed versions which seem astronomical to me.

Man, is this guy in for a world of hurt. I looked at over 100 of these in the last two days, didn't see 1 that would grade 9.8..

9.8's will pull a premium though if you can get one. There's just too much damage to the spines due to it's thickness.. probably gonna see 99 9.6's for every 9.8 if that.

Also, I agree, Avenging Spiderman 15.1 is the book to get for long term value IMHO.

At my LCS, the owner let me go through about 200 freshly unboxed red cover 700s and I was able to pull two I think will hit 9.8(perfect spines, clean surfaces, very minimal corner fray on the spine corners). Other than that, I would say 90% of the books I looked at at some kind of spine stress, or fairly heavy tears at the spine corners.

On a positive note, the two 15.1s I was able to snag are perfect, 9.8 with ease and hoping a 9.9 from one of them if I grade.

Wow agree on this one. I think almost all of the copies I reviewed had issues at the top of the spine. Good luck getting a 9.8 with this one!

if I were to send in my 15.1 it might get at mid to high 9.... the other may be around 9.5 if lower but not my much. I know nothing on how they grade them. Glad I grabbed two though cause even RAW may start grabbing some coin.

Does that mean the ASM #700 CGC 9.8 from Dynamic Forces for $90 would be a good buy?

IDK... I wouldn't pay that much for it personally.... you can still finger through copies at shops and maybe find one for cover price. I've gotten lucky and found good books for cover or under just using patience.

It will. Dan Slott on Twitter said it's the 1st Appearance of Superior Spiderman, not everybody realizes it yet.

For your PC, yes, but long term, no.. The Variants in 9.8 will get a nice return though, but there are 250,000 of the base issues printed. What we're seeing are casual buyers right now scooping up copies, and once the excitement dies off, prices will come back down.

I still don't think DD21 will be anywhere near as pricey as 15.1 or 700. I do like the cover of it though.
