Default Need grading advice

I have never had any comics graded before, i have about 16 long boxes i bought with axcess to about 140 more long boxes i can buy. They are mainly uncomplete runs with some key dates and the condition is from bad to really good. My question is should i take out the key dates and have them graded no matter the condition or just pull out the best ones even if there not key dates just the ones that may get a good grade. or just sell off the runs ungraded. thanks

Be more specific about what you have and their condition.

Generally speaking, and depending on the book, you're gonna want 6.5 or higher, although there are some books that will sell well in 3.0 depending on the book. We can probably help you identify which books would be worthy of grading, but a lot of mid-range silver age sells just as well ungraded as it does graded as most collectors want 9.0+ on it since it's still relatively new compared to Golden Age stuff.

Ok here is an example, I have hawkman 1-27 missing 4 issues, should I sell as a lot or separate? Here is the #1 what would you say the grade is? this is the worst one of the set.

I can't see if the cover or centerfold is lose, but assuming they are not, I'd put this in the 2.5/3.0 range using my worksheet for grading as follows

===================================

COVER GLOSS (Base Score 10)
__X___ (5) SEMI GLOSS

WEAR (Base Score 10) - General Condition of overall book
___X__ (0) MODERATE WEAR (partial creases, spine wear, looks read)

___X__ (10) NO SPINE ROLL

CREASES/WRINKLES/BENDS (Base Score 10) __X__ Front ____ Back
__1___ (-5 per event)

SOIL/DISCOLORATION (base score 10)
__x___ (5) MINOR SOIL - visible basically on back of book

LOOSE CENTERFOLD (base score 10) ____ one staple from printer
___X__ (10) CENTERFOLD TIGHT (attached both staples)

LOOSE COVER (base score 10)
__X___ (10) COVER TIGHT (attached both staples)

TEARS (base score 10)
___2__ (-5 per event) (1) (2) (3) (4+) max deduction = -10

PIECES MISSING/CHIPPING (base score 10)
_____ (10) NO EVENTS
__2___ (-10 per event) (1) (2+) max deduction = -10

Note: Even a 3.0 will pull $50-$55 raw, but graded at 3.0 it'll get you $100-$110, but it's gonna cost you $65 bucks to grade it, so it's probably best to sell that issue alone raw IMHO.

Depending on the price, I would buy the rest of those boxes now!

All I can find to buy in bulk is the 1990's over produced stuff.

I don't have enough extra cash at the moment to get all the boxes, so I go pick up 3 or 4 boxes when I can.
