guy to the comic store tonight... it is a fairly big store from what I have heard and the biggest in the Bay Area... is it safe to assume I might have luck finding these still on the shelves?
Saga #1 Thief of Thieves #1 Daredevil 21 Justice League 52 #1 ASM #690-697 Nowhere Men #1 Also any other good books to look for? I havent done much in comics for 20 years and when I did was a big fan of superman. Any help to not make me look like a dumba$$ when i get there would be appreciated. Thanks |

That's a pretty solid list to look for, though I'm not sure if you'll find them on the shelf if it's a very popular store. But doesn't hurt to ask, you never know
![]() Possibly DD21 but at this late in the release maybe not. Hopefully they'll be in good condition if you find any. You could probably look for Revival #1 too, I think a few of the guys here are reading it/have invested in it. |

While you are looking for Amazing Spider-Man's, look for #606 & 607. You can get $25-$30 for the set. Not bad if you only pay cover.

Your best bet for those books at cover is going to a LCS is a small town or one that specializes in card games. For some reason the gaming stores that carry comics around me get most of their business from the gamers and leave the comics alone.

You could just avoid the store all together and buy 9.8 CGC's on eBay before they blow up. I grabbed a Revival #1 9.8 two weeks ago for $41...already up to $90. Grabbed a Saga #1 9.8 for $72...now up to $130.

Yes on all three. Revival has NBC TV rumors attached to it.
Thief of Thieves is definitely getting a pilot for AMC, depending on what happens it could skyrocket after that. Saga, while not a TV show or movie and may never be based on the writer's statements, is a really really good book and keeps bringing in readers each month. Print run was in the 30,000 but it hasn't stopped people from paying more and more for a #1

Saga will have legs if the writing continues to be excellent. BKV is an exceptional writer and his comics (mostly) have many years attached to them. I could see Saga for for 5+ years! Think YTLM!

Here's a good one to keep an eye out for as well Hulk #271
Thank goodness I already have GOTG #1 1990 & 2008 books, I brought this book to attention back in August here in the Junkie Forums. I've yet to score the Marvel Super Heroes #18 issue with the Guardians in it, it's already super expensive. Keep your eyes out for these books as well, key roles in the movie could cause 1st appearances to "spike", many of which are now undervalued gems & can be had on the cheap: Bug, aka, The Galactic Warrior, "Loverbug" 1st app: Micronauts #1 Cosmo, First Appearance Nova #8 (2008) Drax the Destroyer: ANOTHER reason Iron Man #55 is KEY. Groot: first appeared in Tales to Astonish vol. 1 #13 (November 1960) Rocket Raccoon: First Appearance Marvel Preview #7 (1976) Star-Lord: Marvel Preview #4 (Jan. 1976), Jack Flag: 1st app: Captain America (1st series) #434 (1994) Moondragon: (as Madame MacEvil) Iron Man #54 Gamora: Strange Tales #180 (June, 1975) Mantis: Avengers (vol. 1) #112 (June 1973) Major Victory Marvel Super-Heroes (1st series) #18 (January 1969) Rocket Racoon's first comic appearance ( not magazine) has been making waves on E bay in the $25 range as is Hulk #271

A talking Raccoon that carries Big'Ol Laser Guns... Priceless
Part of me still thinks that Marvel is just joking by talking about a GOTG movie to throw people off before Avengers 2. A talking Tree-Man and talking Raccoon from outer space saving the galaxy ... ??? ... ??? Really? |
