Hot Toy Tip: Django Unchained Action Figures

People are getting all p.o.'d over these slave figures. I expect them to be taken away from us as we can't handle it. If that happens, value will skyrocket. It's already going up and most online places are already sold out. They're going to have a news conference tomorrow calling for them to be removed from shelves.

Geesh, maybe when they're done, they can burn some books and break some albums.

Don't see NECA pulling these, this is good press for them. Now if it was Hasbro, of course it would be pulled.

But since aren't sold at Target, Wal-Mart etc, I don't see them pulled.

I do have about 20-30 of the Venom Toys from back in the 90's that were pulled because it said "I want to eat your Brain". Yea, I held on to those a weeeeee bit to Long and missed the cash out boat

Please read the article before spending your money on this. "press conference " called by "Project Islamic Hope". Not the Christians for better America or some crap.

Let's just be honest, "Project Islamic Hope" is going to get little to zero traction.

NECA is not Hasbro or Mattel, they will welcome this.

I am a toy collector and flipper, doing it for a long time. I am not buying these.

If you are looking to flip, I hope I am wrong. It has happened before

On a side note NECA did "lose" the lic to AC figures. Not sure how big the market is for those, but might see a slight bump if you can pick some up on clearance.

Video game stuff is an odd market. Because it is not necessarily the "toy" collectors driving the market. When it comes to things like this, as a toy collector I wonder how can I display it unopened "MOC" if you will.

I know half life is more popular then Gears of War. But their were some amazing "guns" from GOW produced, but the secondary market just wasn't there for it.

Not pissing on gamers, as I still play a bit (and really suck) but a toy collector the majority of the time is willing and has the resources to pay more then a gamer for "collectibles". I just don't think video game gun reproductions appeal to the toy collector as much.

just asking because half life has a very big following, way bigger than gears. And its a pc game and generally speaking pc gamers have more money to spend because of the cost for setup and such. And the company of the game , Valve is GIANT. I will wait and see what the pre sell price is later today.

Regarding the NECA guns...I can speak from experience that I didn't have any luck making money from my Portal replica gun. I think if I would have sold it when I immediately bought it, I would have made some profit. But I waited, and now the guns maybe sell for the original price of $150. Here's a link to the gun that I was trying to sell...you can see that it's not an easy sell...and especially after fees and the trouble of shipping such a large item, I don't think I'd try to flip something like this again. Luckily, I was able to sell this on Craigslist and not lose too much money.
