Experience has led me to believe ordering heavy is not a bad thing. If this book winds up tanking, I can still sell them for cover price or there abouts. I'm still working my way through multiples of manhattan projects, thief of thieves, revival, etc. So far the only comic I wish I never bought multiples is mind the gap, and now Secret. Mind the Gap still has potential though.

I know I am the odd one out but I didn't preorder this. Just going to grab 1-2 copies from my LCS. With so many of the collectors ordering multiple copies, I should be able to get a few copies from somewhere in case I really liked it. Then again, I am a newbie so probably will missed out if this book gets off like nowhere men.

New titles are like cancer to some shops. They may not be as excited about it as they hear hype all month long for hundreds of titles, and some owners don't pay attention to the audience and/or the books. In saying that, it's reasonable to think, and I've seen it, where a shop owner will only order 1 or maybe if he's feeling good, 2 of a new title.
For example, my shop got 1 The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Guns #1. ONE. Yeah, and I bought it.

Does Hickman believe in totally plain covers so that people actually focus on the writing? First Manhattan Projects, now this. Half the page is white with lettering and the other half is basically a simplistic drawring in one color with different tones. I don't know about you guys, but I love great artistic covers that slap you in the face with awesomeness when you first see them, that's why I want a copy in my collection. I hope the writing is great, and that the production is under 50,000 for #1, but I am not a fan of the covers and the entire series will probably have this cover style ongoing.
