Nope, the storyline starts after Episode 4 andthe first destruction of the Death Star, in between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, so Vader is still alive. Here's the review on Graham Crackers:

"Brian Wood, I love you!! Picking up just after the destruction of the 1st Death Star in A New Hope, we follow our heroes through adventures never seen!

Leia fans rejoice: this issue focuses quite a bit on our favorite princess!! Although my favorite part may have been when Darth Vader gets scolded, and demoted, by the Emperor for his recent failure.

The first few pages are rather wordy during what should be pretty exciting, but itís necessary to set the stage and catch us up, so I didnít mind. This story is new, while still capturing the feel of the original trilogy. Thereís going to be a lot of love in this creation, and this fan canít wait for the next issue!

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams"

+ 1. Outside of the Hastings, I would not go too heavy on this. Their titles don't have a very good history in the secondary market. Good stories, but they don't translate big $

Serious question.

Why don't Dark Horse books stand up in the secondary market?

It's a mixture of things, but one that stands out is that when it comes time for them to do a second printing they basically do a straight reprint of the book cover and all. There is really nothing that sets the first print apart from any later printings except "second printing" in small letters, which can even be difficult to find on some issues.

With image there is a set amount and when it is gone it's gone (sell outs mean publicity for their product, so it happens a lot). When they go back and reprint there is something different about the cover, so you know what the first print is and what the second printing is.

It's not like Dark Horse is a bad company...they produce some really good titles! I mean I'm into some of them but they have huge followings like B.P.R.D., Buffy and their titles, etc. They have good writers they just don't promote as well...they also fit the "Portland" scene really well.

Star wars anything is a good bet at issue one or a mini From dark empire legacy purge ect its always done very well out the gate
legacy 0 was a 50c book out the gate and i was selling blocks of 10 for 20 a week later
as with any other star wars book it will do well DH has done very well with these books
Spidy 1 is rocking and WD continues to roll
my habit with WD is pick up 25 each month and hold for a year
it works very well and been doing it for 5 years if ya got some spare cash its a great flip the 100s were over printed due to so many covers but still will do ok down the road the chromes are getting me 20 or so pretty good for 5 bucks 11 months back
there are 2 specials for WD in previews this month Michone and the Gov. Id buy both if ya got the extra cash only going for 10 of each myself but at 1.50 its pretty good

Dawn of the Jedi Force Storm did well for a minute and then dropped off. I guess get in early and get out early. I tend to just get them to read rather than speculate with DH.

Listen to his WD advice. Very wise. Look at what 92 is going for now and it's barely a year old.
