I have at least 15 of each first print issues. A bunch of CGC SS 9.8's that I posted a while back and a few raws of the 500 print variants and b&w's. I read a book first then I decide if I think it has potential. The ebay auctions may be low now but wait till Sept-October time, they will be back up across the board.

I have at least 15 issues of each first print 1-4. A few b&w's, eccc, katie, and bloody (whenever they arrive???) and a bunch of CGC SS that I posted a while back. I read a book first and if I like it more I buy what I can. This book is doing something that the big 2 used to do back in the Silver-age, get a good artist to do amazing covers and inside art. Want the best you go get the best, not just chuck out drek.

Some updates on the auction outcomes mentioned in my previous post:

Helheim NYCC SS 9.8: USD57
Helheim NYCC: 4day left and currently at USD10 + USD3 shipping, 1 bid
Helheim NYCC + regular 1-3: USD16

Helheim ECCC: USD37
Helheim ECCC SS 9.8: 3 days left and at USD30 + USD11 shipping, 1 bid
Helheim ECCC: 3 days left and at USD30 + USD7 shipping, 0 bid

Sad really.

I read a post from CBT and I fully agree with his observation that:

"The easy money has been made, everything is being over printed, whether there is 1 variant or a million, regardless of how quality a book is, none of it is going to matter in the short term. Supply exceeds demand, and only lower supply, or more demand, will change the current trend."

"buying multiples of every book for quick flipping got too crowded and the profit disappeared"

"Brand new books should always sell for cover, unless there is a reason otherwise. The crazy prices some books have seen so quickly after launch are completely unsustainable"

Thoughts?

Now that #1's are sold out (midtown must've bought 5k of the 11k print run) and after the summer down time these will climb higher IMO. The problem right now is there aren't as many people snagging these low prices on the bay because people are busy. (On vacation, at cons, saving up doing home improvements etc. etc. Come august-october things will be better.

If you have to sell thats a different story but yeah in the current short term you are "spooned" if you think you can flip a book right now for big money. I agree with CBT on most things but a modern that is popular will never sell just for cover if its good art and story i.e - Saga, Revival, EOW etc. Just my thoughts.

I'm new to the club. My wife picked this up at our LCS as a gift while I was out to sea.

She paid 10 bucks which is a little high but I appreciate my LCS owner knowing I would want this.

I have 1, 3, and 4 now.

Got my #3 variants from Oni today. They took longer than normal so they threw in a second print of #2 and The Strangers FCBD issue.

All looks super minty!

Oni is expensive, but they will fix any issue right away, so you pay more and get better customer service.. I have been using graham for my pulls, and so far, packaged in bubble wrap and perfect

For these variants other than taking your chances on ebay, Oni is the only source selling them. That exclusiveness leaves you no choice but to deal with the delays, but then again I'm not looking to flip right away so it works out.

Anyone else excited to pick up #5 tomorrow? It looks like Rikard is going to have some new parts stitched on him in the form of wings!

Poor poor Helheim. With clone and todd stealing the limelight, nobody cares about this anymore.
I remember someone said that you can't get the variant cheaper than what Oni is selling. Guess what. Now you can!!

Was there any official news from SDCC about helheim becoming ongoing? I know there was rumbles of Jones leaving and more issues hitting...

Super cheap auction.
5 copies of ECCC with a starting bid of $0.01.
Will be a good test to how worthless this has become.

its ongoing no doubt. Even the creator / writer Cullen Bunn tweeted back a month or so ago it will have 2 more story arcs and that was the plan as of now. If sales stay decent it'll keep going longer.

Well, to be honest, Clone #1 was worthless last week. I saw them going for $2.99, and then WHAMO-BLAMO TV Series announced and they're $40 books! It can happen with Helheim, maybe.. who knows, but it's unique and worth hanging onto IMHO.

I don't think Helheim can get much lower in price right now. Crazy to think how much lower they are compared to what there where going for a while back. I feel sorry for the people who decided to hold rather then sell. I still have a few issues around just in case but sold off most of it. I really like the writer and the artist and just am hopefully the series can continue to be successful and pick up a little steam in not only in selling it but in the comic itself. Cullen Bunn and Joelle Jones should be a great team together because of Bunn's great writing abilities that we've seen in Sixth Gun and Jones' Art but I've yet to see it reach it's full potential.

Yes, this is ongoing - I went to the ONI booth and took a look around - I asked if Helheim was ending at issue #5 or #6 and the rep said, "no, no, this is going to be on-going."

Also, they had Cook's limited cover #2 copies on racks there (first printing) - about 10 or so.

update on the 5 copy eccc auction.
$35 with 2 hours to go. I wonder how pathetic this will turn out to be.

Helheim will do fine if you can hold onto them longer than right now. 12 month rule applies and this is month 4 that it came out. Relax.
