Default Indy's Next Pick: Pretty Deadly #1

There is no release date yet. No pre-orders available yet, but when there are I'll post in this thread. Don't be left out this time! We've had a great 2012 with some great picks, some of them monster picks, and this could very well be one for 2013. The best way to be in the game is to PRE-ORDER on books like this. I don't post a lot of advance tips as not every book has massive potential. I believe this one does as it may cross-over to the female audience which is VERY hard to do in comics. If that happens? WOW.. that'll be big.

Here's what I know so far. It's a western with a disfigured, female assassin seeking revenge. Rios’ work is amazing and Kelly Sue is on fire right now. The book should be hot.

Do not miss out. Do not under order.

You have been warned.

i mostly perused this part of the forum out of curiosity and even laughed at everyone making a big deal out of my little pony comics. i haven't collected in a long time, and i only buy the occasional tpb now, however this damn forum and all these picks is getting me sucked back into the comic world.

lots of good info going on here, and people making some good money. you got me hooked now indy. i'm gonna be diving back into comics this year damn you. will be on the lookout for this one. i'm already on craigslist daily looking for comics now too, double damn you. then again this type of speculating is still hundreds cheaper than prospecting in baseball and other sports, and is a quicker flip too.

The nice thing about comcs vs. boxes of cards is at least you know what you're buying up front.

great looking image, reminds me of ninja scroll a little. similar story too.

yeah i agree. even buying singles of guys you have to wait years for them to develop, versus spending 20 bucks on a handful of comics that might heat up and allow you to double or triple your money in a few months. my eyes are opened. plus you can read em and appreicate the art if all else fails at least.

can you help me out with a list of who are the good online retailers besides midtown to bookmark in my browser so i can get in on all the variants and incentive stuff in the future? thanks.

I use Midtown.com, tfaw.com, grahamcrackers.com and MyComicShop.com for the most part. I also shop locally, but do most of my pre-ordering through Midtown and tfaw.com

Some PRETTY DEADLY art by Emma Rios — the much-anticipated Western written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and drawn by Rios will be out in 2013!

It seems like everything is over-varianted (is that a word) right now.

Why don't you guys like more covers? Aren't they nice to collect?

Of course, if the worry is about the secondary market, then I don't think variants will be the problem. It will be the sheer number of flippers/speculators that will order large quantities and slaughter the market. Oversupply will be the problem, not the variants.

My 2 cents.

I don't mind one or two. It's when a great book gets bogged down due to the sheer volume.

I'm looking at you Bedlam.
