Default My first CGC Submission, grades are in!

I went 28 for 30 on getting CGC 9.8's (I was very anal retentive with choosing my books, I guess it paid off).

Here are the goods, all 9.8's:
Thief of Thieves #1 Image Expo
Peter Panzerfaust 2
Peter Panzerfaust 3
(2) Peter Panzerfaust 4
(2) Saga 2
Saga 4
Saga 6
(6) Nowhere Men 1
(2) Nowhere Men 2
Avenging Spider-Man 15.1
(2) Amazing Spider-Man 698 1:25 Variant
Happy 3 Variant
Deadpool Killustrated 1
(2) Star Wars 1 Hastings Variant
(2) Star Wars 1
(2) Clone 1 Adlard Variant

All will be available when I get them back (probably Saturday or Monday). A few of the books don't have many recent sales and are very low population, so those I would probably rather just put up on eBay auction instead of taking what the last one went for (mainly the Panzerfausts, Star Wars, and the ToT Image Expo). Anyways, I was really hoping for at least one 9.9, but still very pleased with the results.

Cool. What did it cost you total to CGC that lot? Any advice for someone who has never submitted and is considering?

If he fast tracked it, it's $28 per book, plus shipping/insurance.

Yep, this was a Fast Track submission, I also have 18 more books that I submitted at the Fast Track level on the same day at the Arizona Comic Con two weekends ago, I'm hoping they get me those grades in today, if not I guess by tomorrow. I did also send 30 books at the basic level at $18 per book, a fwe of the same books in this submission, mainly the cheaper ones. I won't see those for another 4-5 months, but I don't see any of those books as going down, so saving $10 per book is worth it to me. So I will hopefully have 18 more books graded to report on today, including a few cool Signature Series. Now it's time to recoup some of the $1500 in grading fees I just spent.

As far as advice on grading, just check both sides of the book at different angles right up to your eyeball with good lighting. I didn't check inside of any of my books, I don't want to mess with the spine, plus these are all basically brand new books that are unread, so if the outside covers are clean, I just assumed they're kosher on the inside pages. I'm sure Indy could tell you a lot more about comic grading than I can, although I have graded about 7,000 sports cards in my lifetime.

Congrats!!! You shouldn't have a problem selling any of those!

That's some haul!

I've just sent my first submission of 4 nowhere men variants and anxiously wait for them to be returned to the UK.

If I get them back above 9 I will be happy due to the rarity!

Nicely done man.

Scottie, did you use Fast Track? I don't like how CGC has basically forced us to use Fast Track now; I just can't afford to have my decent books sitting there for 4-5 months. Most of the regular service I did are book selling in the $8-$15 range online that I'm into for $2-$3 per copy, so with the price of grading at $28 doesn't seem worth it, at $18 I guess I can make some decent profit when the wait is finally over.

No word on my other 18 books today, it shows them all as processe on January 30th, but I guess they just got to this order today. I'll post the other results as soon as I get them (tomorrow morning?).

Yeah fast track is the only option really, 100 working days plus 2 weeks shipping to and fro the UK is bang out of the question!

I haven't seen my order even reach CGC yet so its gonna be another 3-4 weeks till they are home!

CGC is keeping me in suspense right now, but I did have one more book graded. This little guy got a 9.8, which I kind of expected (those Blank Sketch covers are made from hard construction paper that don't crease easy):
