Default My weekly pickups and mail thread

figure i'd just follow some others lead and just create a thread dedicated to weekly pickups and maildays.

so final panzerfaust #9 count is 6 copies, so not too bad. got shorted a copy by one shop that was supposed to have one on hold for me

also a quick story that made me sick to my stomach. at one shop i found a #9 at i ask the old guy who owns the store if he has any other back issues. so he tells me that he was cleaned out of his whole run of panzerfaust, saga, and manhattan projects about 10 days ago. said he had full runs of all those titles and multiples of some, and the sick part is that he sold them all for cover price. he told me he was just glad to be rid of them cause they weren't selling, it was all i could do not to ball up in the fetal position and cry in his store, lol. so sick.

anyway here is my booty from the week, pretty happy with the results. got everything for cover price, except for the surfers and thors.

everything but the thor, gotg, surfers, and bedlams are for sale. if you need anything i'll try to make you a good deal a little below ebay so just let me know. thanks for looking.

thank you sir. as a fellow angelean i'm sure you can appreciate how hard it is to find good books sometimes. i have been having pretty good luck out in the riverside areas.

i was out there for school related business last friday. i went to a shop in norco that was where i had just found out i missed out on complete runs of panzerfaust, saga, and manhattan projects at cover price. he has almost the complete run of gotg though. just missing 1, 23, and 25. i picked up the #2 and 24 in my scans. thinking about going back and getting the rest.

I love the cover to #2. I just picked up a small collection of GOTG that has that one in it, can't wait to get them in hand! I'm telling ya, pick up this GOTG stuff now, I think it's going to be HUGE. Jason Momoa just cast as Drax the Destroyer!!

Unfortunately, but fortunately for those of us who have an Iron Man #55, Drax's 1st appearance is in that book, which will only help drive the prices higher. Iron Man #55 is THE BOOK, in any condition, to get right now IMHO.

no doubt indy. i'm always on the lookout for a #55 but prices are crazy. i'm always checking craigslist for one too.

i hid the rest of the gotg's in a stack of youngblood comics, so i think they'll be safe till i get a chance to go back out that way, lmao.

everyone needs to be stocking up on these marvel premiers right now. edgar wright + marvel franchise = home run. should be good.

got my thanos on today.

12 bucks total for the capt. marvels, they look like vf to me 5bucks for infinity gauntlet and couldn't pass on the x-force's at 2 bucks. then just a little over cover for the batman's. decent day.

so another week another pile of cash gone. thought it was gonna be a light week, i really did. lol. 3 days of shopping and i'm very happy with my returns, some pretty nice scores imo.

first the new releases. looks like everyone has adjusted their orders to the batman news because detective's were plentiful everywhere i went. glad i held back on the sex, then again no one likes bad sex, lol. still have 6 more helheims coming from midtown, hope they aren't mangled.

some good stuff here. couldn't believe this was sitting there at cover price. they had more but the store policy is only 2 per copy of anything they have. 4th printing on the #1, everything else is 1st print.

only a dollar over cover for the combo's and the #2, everything else cover. really hope this harper rowe thing works out, lol.

some more good stuff. finally found a invincible #19

finally a few pictures of dollar bin hotness. i'll let the pics speak for themselves.

i had a pretty epic day yesterday imo. i feel like i won the lottery or something, it was kind of ridiculous. anyway, here are the glorious results of 8 hours of driving and digging.

i'll save the best for last, and let me just warn you.......it's a doozy

no injustice here, i found plenty to make up for my dumbassedness of passing up #2's last week.

a couple more helheims to add to the pile, think i'm up to 15 total and 2 phantoms. annihilation for less than cover, sure why not. another invincible and some more battle scars 6's, and a green wake for good measure.

the first x-factor 6 i found for a decent price, condition isn't cherry but got the guy down to 20 for 6 and 24 combined, and 24 is in nm. found another hulk 271, antman, and the caps for 3 bucks each, score.

so all in all a pretty good day right? well not even close. the next pics are actually from the first stop i made. a new shop just opened 10 minutes from my house. they only have new stuff and probably the smallest little back issue bin i've ever seen, and it's not even a 1/4 full yet since it's a new shop. so i wasn't expecting much

so i walk in and browse the new release shelf fully just expecting to grab a copy of nowhere men and sledgehammer, and also find these for good measure. so already i'm pretty happy.

then i see these too. so i'm stoked.

so i mosey over to the tiny, little, miniscule, puny back issue bin, fully expecting to find nothing. maybe i'll find a batman #6 or something decent right? well let me tell you i almost lost control of my bowels when i found what i found in these bins. unreal, and yes these were the sticker prices for these.

9.99 what!!!!!!!!

mo money, mo money.

wait 4.99 are you serious?????

.
.
.
.
.
c'mon now. this is just getting silly, 4.99 each??!!??!!! am i on some type of hidden camera prank show????

and this is where i almost lost control of all bodily functions. i thought for sure the back covers were missing or something. how are these sitting in this little bin for 9.99 each.

i was so nervous that the clerk was gonna realize what a mistake they made and pull these all from me. instead he asked if i wanted to sign up for their membership program to get 10% off my purchase, i said sure sign me up, and he just checked me out with a smile. crazy day.

here is what i got this week. nothing major this week because i spent a lot of money on the snyder signing.

went light on east of west for now, picked up the ghost's for cover luckily. will probably pick 5-10 more up this weekend, and can also get 4 more ghost variants, but at 7 bucks a pop now. also got confirmation on my 6 fb eofw variants.

also finally bought in on walking dead 108, i'm happy with the way they are trending on ebay enough to give me confidence in buying, even with the crazy high print run. plus they are starting to dry up a little at all the shops around here anyway. so i figure might as well grab a handful of high grade copies while i can right? will probably start adding 2 or 3 a week to everything i buy until they completely dry up.

I feel like L.A. is the meca for comic shops. Only prob is the traffic is a beotch. It's kinda frustrating having literately 25 comic shops within 15 miles but having to drive in grid lock LA traffic, which makes no rhyme or reason, all hours of the day to get to any of them.

It's like that for everything out there. Oh, need to go five blocks to rent a movie, takes half a day.

thanks guys. it's been a lot of fun these last few months chasing down comics and chopping them up with everyone here on the board.

it's pretty impressive to browse this thread and look at all the pick ups i've made in the last month or so. i've kinda shocked myself with all the things i've bought and found in this thread so far. it's kind of turning into a cool little catalogue of all my purchases.
