Hulk 181

So there's a guy who's locally selling a Hulk 181, asking for $200. He says it's in great shape with just minor creases near staples, but the catch is that the outside cover is missing haha

. Do you guys think it would be worth anything without a cover, $100 even?

I would not put that kind of money towards that...I would take that $200 or even $100 and save it for a nicer copy, just my opinion!

I agree with John, save your money and purchase a copy with a cover. I have seen a few books without covers go for very cheap. Is it something you really want in a pc?

I don't think $200, but definitely 60-100. A nice copy can be had that would be VF or better with great cover and with marvel stamp cut listing @ a poor to fair grade. The pages can be swapped to create a really nice restored copy for cheap.

No it would be for a resale, but I was only thinking if I could find a cover somewhere haha then have a repair done if that's even possible. I just saw the ad and the thought popped into my head, but I wanted to ask here what you guys thought about the value in it first.

Yeah that's exactly what I was at first thinking too, if it could be restored (and I think it does have the stamp actually).

Well you wouldn't restore the coverless copy but use it for restoration on a nice copy with stamp cut.

A coverless hulk 181 w/ stamp sold for $115 just recently on Ebay. Use the posting to bargin, if you are getting it, if he wants $200. Let him know that after fee's he would only get about $100 and have to deal with the hasstle.

Nice, thanks for the info DNOC! I emailed him this evening making sure it still has the value stamp, so maybe sometime this week I'll check it out in person, and see what's the lowest he'd accept for it.
