282 was a $10 book when it came out 20 years ago, prior to the internet. You can 100% get copies NM for $1, even less sometimes. I have personally purchased and sold numerous copies.

I'll take up to 100 of them off you that are VF/NM or better at $2.50 a piece, here's your chance to make some money then.

As you said you can get $4 a piece, so not really good from a business perspective. I can sell you 100 copies for $4 a pop though.

Make it $3 a book and you got a deal, VF/NM or better, no eBay fees and you can ship them all in one pop. LMK

i unfortunately do not have an endless supply. Not to mention $3 doesn't really interest me as much as the possibility to sell for more later as bunch lot's.

as many of you know i collect many key and high dollar comics and i usually dont voice my opinions too much on books i think are gonna skyrocket cause i like to get as many as i can for cheap lol But, i am 100% in FULL support of this book blowing up in the next few month to a year and think this will be a huge money maker!! X-Men 282 is what im speaking of. good luck

IMO 283 is a better buy, being the 1st full appearance. You can definitely make money on both in the coming months, but ultimately the print run on both is going to cap this book's $. Skyrocket from a $1 to $15 is a nice return but pushing pennies unless you are dealing in bulk.

X-factor 6 is kkrazy hot !
I sold 3 of my mid high copies on the other forums fast. And 2 more on ebay after i jacked up the price. I have one more mid high grade to get rid of. I have 2 at cgc now and i'm pressing and sending in 10 more fast track. I'll sell a few more and sit on the rest.
Uncanny 282 will not see the price hikes of x-factor 6 but i hope it does i'm pressing 15 to send to cgc and will be selling the mid high grades if i see the heat.

What about #5? Or is this gonna be a case of a cover/first full appearance is gonna be more desirable than just the first true appearance (ie IH180 vs IH181)

It's going to be that 282 holds the premium.

I think I might have figured out the method to the first app/ cameo madness.

Whenever a character has a first appearance as a cameo and is on the cover (Like 282) then it will be worth more than the first full appearance.

Whereas a cameo without being on the cover (ex. Xfactor 5, hulk 180) then the first full appearance is worth more as more often then not that character will be on that cover for there first full appearance (ie. xfactor 6, hulk 181)

I have a 9.4-9.6 and a 9.0-9.2.

If you interested it would be $65 for the first and $48 for the second one and that is shipped.

Thanks

Oh, if it was only that simple. What you said is true for the most part but there are always exceptions and debateable occurances. You also have to account for partials, shadowed, full splash cameo, partial cameo, 1st full no cover. 1st appearances (full) or what people consider full are typically more coveted. You also have to account for conflicting and or wrong information, and general buyer ignorance. There are so many variations of the "rule" and or buyer activity. Prime example off top of my head that conflicts with that general thinking is Batman 357. You have a cameo despite cgc designation of jason todd and a "shadowed" (being you can't even see his face) and also arguably a cameo of killer croc, yet it sells for a premium. Crocs appearance is much like Wolverine villan, cybers in marvel presents 85, wearing a hat and trench coat. Also buyers and or the market can change. Incredible hulk 180 was actually valued more than 181 in the early 80's. The history is preserved in old overstreet price guides if you don't believe me.

if you can PM me a scan if you don't mind I think $65 is fair, depending on the scan we may have a deal

Being somewhat new to comics, where could one find a good website that explains this whole story line. I never really followed X-Men...

I have a 5 and 6 that I am taking to a show tomorrow - I would put them the 5 in a solid 9.6 and the 6 in a 9.4-9.6 area.

I've got 2 copies of X-Factor #5 but I think I'll hold off selling until it gets closer to the actual movie.

You can probably get them on comixology.com for $2-$3 each if you want to read them.

My wife picked up a copy for me from our LCS for $45. Pretty decent copy. The only one they had. Surprised it was still there after seeing it about a week ago.
