Heads up on an auction: Captain Marvel 33 damaged back cover

Captain Marvel 33 1974 VF NM Thanos Starlin Art Avengers 2 Villain | eBay

Be weary of this auction.

If you look at the image of the back cover you can see cleaning solvent smearing in the text of the advertisment. Seller does not mention this at all and in fact says the back cover is free from defects. It's already bid to $36 and this comic is not worth that at all.

I was watching that one and just removed it. I didn't catch it until I got my reminder notice.

Looks like a large crease on the back cover upper corner as well.

No defects...lol

Glad I purchased mine as Cgc graded when I did.

Dear toddmcfarlanefan,

That was an oversight on my part. The smear appears to be at the production level (almost like ink smearing before it dried off the press). There is no texture or stain to it at all. I don't believe it would effect the grade, but that's certainly open to debate. Thanks for your inquiry!

That looks like it could also be a oily fingerprint smudge.
