Default Speculator's Corner

As a collector and speculator, I spend more time than I would like to admit browsing the sales of Ebay. To that end, I have started to track the numbers of the hotter books and more interesting prospects.

It is not like this information is not available to everyone else, but since I am already tracking it, why not offer it as information to the junkies.

Depending on time constraints, tracking numbers will happen on a daily basis and I will update as often as I can. I will be adding books to this report as time allows and if you would like to see something in particular tracked, let me know and I will do what I can to add it to my report.

Like I said, this is stuff anyone can find, but compiling it in one place might benefit some of yall that do not have the time I do

On with the report......
==================================================================================================================

Wicked! Keep up the great work.

I really think we're gonna see East of West make the jump into the top tier soon.

But before it does, please check the shelves on your local shop.

Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth #1 - 1st Print - [$5.15 (9 CS)] - $4.75 (1 CS)

This is a surprise. I thought people were loving todd and with its 7k run, the price should steadily increase.

Take in consideration that I run this report daily. There will most definitely be days with very few, if any issues purchased.

First, op thank you for this work!!

I think Todd may be a big surprise later in the year, when the tpb comes out. CGC 9.8 sales are strong on this title at $90-100ish. You have to remember, outside of the boards, very few still know about this title, but it's starting to grow. It'll take time tho.

Nothing spectacular today. I imagine tomorrow will have some movers and shakers.

WD 108 and EoW made some moves yesterday, in number of copies and value. Lets hope the trend continues!

Noticed that EOW and WD 108 are bothing moving up as well. This is on amazon so same pattern.

EOW the lowest price is 6.48(not including shipping) Last week it was 4.99
WD 108 is 4.98, last time i checked it was 2.00
Im seeing zero movement on nowhere men 4 unfortunately and they are going into second print already.
Zero movement on peter panzer 10 as well

I think after this week, I will be moving all reports to a weekly format. I will still be keeping track daily, but there is not enough movement from day to day to really tell a story.

However, the Spawn #9 jump is interesting. Not really sure why that price jumped so much.

Because people are stupid and listen to larry. He posted something like spawn 9 is one of the most undervalued modern keys on his little blog and people ate it up. All Larry really does in his blog is copy what is already posted on CGC. Of course thats just my opinion but i really doubt that spawn 9 does anything but plummet in price. All you witness is speculators selling spawn 9 to other speculators.

Thus why that issue is in my "Oddball" report. I will still keep an eye on it, regardless

Just for clarification i dont mean people are stupid for buying spawn 9 but for listening to larry just because he says so. Larry knows what he is talking about but is also a store owner. His own opinons and judgements may be based on being a store owner and not a flipper. People need to use their own common sense and judgement and do what they think is right.

Numbers in for the week.

Saga took a huge hit in value, but if this continues to be a trend, I will more closely monitor the "quality" of the auctions.

Todd and Injustice lead the pack this week in increased value.

I removed the key issues since attempting to track per "quality" copy is very difficult by hand. However, I will be adding another chart for top issues sold for the week.
